I guess I never realized that. Omegas or pretty dang expensive to not be automatic. Especially with Tudor being automatic with 70hr power reserves for half the cost.

I know most will disagree with me, but even if you fall in love with a particular watch, if depreciates damn near 50% in a year or two then dont get it. I know Rolex are ridiculously priced on the gray market, but I suggest hold off and save your pennies until one is financially attainable. You will have an amazing watch that will last a lifetime and if you ever decided to sell you will get what you paid for it (or relatively close). Just my two cents.

An automatic movement isn't a feature that is any way connected to the price or "niceness" of a watch.

You mean when comparing automatic vs manual winding, right? Because it definitely seems that quartz watches are cheaper than their mechanical counterparts.

Yes. In the mechanical watch space, automatic is definitely not an indicator of quality or prestige against manually wound. A lot of the most exquisitely crafted watches are hand wound. It helps reduce movement size and allows a better view of the movement if there's a display case back.
