Already broke my vow and took a small risk (relatively) on a well reviewed micro brand. I've always like the look of Doxas and this is fairly similar with a sapphire bezel and sellita movement for under $1,000 (hahaha $999)

So I have been wearing my $15 rubber strap for a month now and have absolutely no complaints. The strap included new pins that are not as beefy as the stock rolex ones, and the watch wouldn't fit back together unless I used the thinner included pins, so that was one small thing that I noticed.
I work in an industrial setting, albeit at a desk most of the time, but there is no desk rash on the buckle nor scrapes or scratches from walking around the job site or going to the gym every day.
I like that there are little tabs to keep the first strap loop in place, but the 2nd one doesn't slide off too terribly.
Definitely recommend over the $200 similar items, because I just can't see $185 in added value. Unfortunately there is only green and blue in this particular strap so it won't work for every model, but it works great on some id imagine.
On that note, is it possible to polish out case scratches? I've got a few that I wouldn't mind trying on.

That being said, a two-tone Rolex isn't going to fly as an every-day watch in my environment. Going to have to save that for special occasions. But it has made me rather instantly lose all appetite for Fossils.
So I picked this up as an every-day/beater to tide me over (until I feel it's far enough removed from the Datejust purchase that I can move on my Seamaster Pro) But I'm putting my foot down here - no more watches until next year!

Had it just over a week, haven't done anything weird with it. But the bezel is locking up. It'll be almost impossible to turn, then you can free it up for a bit for it to rotate smoothly for a quarter turn, and then it goes back to locking.
Sounds like Jomashop is going to send me a return label and issue a full refund. But now I don't know what to do - I really liked the look and feel of this watch, but this does leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Should I just chalk it up to a one-off and order another of the same thing? Or get the other watch I was considering in this price range, the Oris Aquis.
I actually like the look of the Aquis a little bit better, but settled on the Hydroconquest because the Aquis I love is the green one (really the only green watch I'm crazy about) and felt like black was a better everyday watch than green until I expand the collection down the road. (Yes I know Oris has other colors of the Aquis, but the green is the one that really stands out to me.)
(Or just stick with one Datejust and a bunch of Fossils until for a few more months and then move on the Seamaster...)
