At an AD, they were all sold but just weren't picked up yet.
That's crazy. My AD is telling me they are literally getting in NOTHING, much less two of the hottest sport models out there.

The lady said I was pretty lucky, they hadn't gotten anything like that in their shipments in a while.

Agree. That's just temporary in theory. Rolex and AP want inventory at least at their boutiques. The watches will be sold but can not be carried out until replaced by the same model in store (much easier for Rolex than others of course). So in theory when the replacement comes, they could just sell those as opposed to the display models. I guess it increases permanent inventory but gives people more fake hope and doesn't disenfranchise the brand so much from those who want it.

Tell me about watch winders? I'd like to get one with 3-4 winding slots. There is a wide range of pricing out there (from really cheap on Amazon to really expensive high-end). Is there any reason to spring for more expensive options?

Can wind clockwide, counter, or both. Each spot can be different method.

That's the problem with buying scads of auto watches - keeping them wound. I don't use a winder - just wind as needed every few days. My main watch has a 70hr reserve, but I rarely get that much out of it cuz I don't move enough throughout the workday. I generally get 2 full days out of it, but rarely the make it to the third day without needing to adjust and wind.
Joe, how much time would you say each watch gets on your wrist? Can definitely get down with the winder, I have about 5 automatics and I'm not keeping them wound as I should :/ (nothing fancy enough for this thread though, I mostly like sub-$300 Seikos and such, but one day would like a Breitling and/or Grand Seiko)

Very little. I only wear about 3 or 4 of my watches regularly and when I get home from work or out, I put on one of my 'beaters'. Sometimes when the mood strikes me I'll wear another one.
Right now I mainly wear my Skydweller, Panerai 1314, DSSD or Hublot meca 10 as my dress watch for work or going out.
And ill wear my Seiko SNR045 green or Explorer II around the house. If I'm doing hard work I'll put on a gshock
I've often thought about selling 12 of my watches and buying 2 or 3 more super pieces, I have way too many.
Joe's collection is out of this world. I've had the pleasure of seeing more

How long have you had that one? I am going back and forth between spending the money and just getting a Wolf, or buying a much cheaper option and expecting to replace it every few years which would still come out ahead dollar wise. I'm currently upset I don't have an outlet in my closet where I would like to keep the winder.
