My galaxy s21 Ultra has a 108MP camera. It's cool for when you want high resolution but you can't text the pictures so I don't use the option much.

It's not about practicality. It's about flexing. Watch companies showing off what they can do. This watch will never see more than a foot of water lol! But I like the red text

I've really wrestled with the idea of buying one, but close to $10K for my first watch is a little crazy for me personally.

It's bad enough that I'm seriously considering $5K watches now after mentioning a budget cap of $1,200 on here about a month ago. That's what YouTube and y'all guys have done to me.

Just find some credit card that gets a big ass sign up bonus and has 18 months with no interest to lessen the pain. I got like a grand back between that and the jeweler giving me a store credit for X% of the price of my watch. Of course I promptly spent it all plus some on something for the wife so the store knew what they were doing.

I'm my opinion if you buy the right watch, you're just moving money into a savings account on your wrist. With Rolex it's a high interest savings account lol

To tell you the truth that's what makes me excited about the pieces I know I'm committed to. Like that GO yellow watch I just bought. that is facing a $5k loss at least it I get rid of it, which means I never will. When I buy a watch like that its a different feeling than a rolex, which I know I can flip at a moments notice and come out even.

That's right. When Iceland went bust in 2008 the first thing people sank their money into were rolex watches. I would not necessarily advise to make the investment part of your watch the main thing as that takes away from possibly getting what you really want (sometimes) but if you buy a watch well (eg slightly pre owned) you will most likely not lose anything significant if anything at all. As FTAC said, for those with SS Rolexes, if they ever sell, they were basically paid to wear that watch the whole time.
