Another note, once you jump into the Hamilton, and hell even tissot range, you will notice a nice change in fit/finish away from all of those fossil's you have. (No offense) You'll probably never look back and you'll always want to upgrade.

I was gifted a $500+ tissot PRC 200 (probably $300 on gray) and I still wear it occasionally because it's a fairly nice watch, and finished better than any timex or Casio or citizen I had before.

Tissot's new seastar 2000 is a beautiful looking watch and apparently well made.

I think it's right around 1000 msrp as well

And Murph's watch: the Khaki Field Murph. Super nice, but around $850 grey market.

Also I don't think you can go wrong with any of their mechanical field watches.

Their nicest watch IMO is the Intramatic Chrono, but even on gray market it comes in close to 2k out of budget.

Hamilton makes a nice watch.

Direct replacement for the 007/9 is $45 from Crystal Times, and the local watch maker is charging me $40 to change it.

Ha same. Love to lurk at the nice watches while I rock my Hamilton Khaki daily. I swapped the band out for a rubber strap. I rotate that with a Shinola, a Vostok Amphibian, and a Casio haha. Not high end, but nice to see Hamilton love.

I just can't do rubber straps. The only ones I have are on my dive watch and dive computer which I only use for diving or sometimes swimming. I don't like the feel of rubber on my wrist.

I tried a few of NATO straps for a while and couldn't do it. I prefer leather, but sweat too much. The rubber strap I have now is from BluShark, I like it a lot. Its soft to the touch, but is still firm. I'm a fam.

I will have to look into them. I only have leather and a couple of steel bands. But lord do I not like replacing the leather bands every few years. They are pricey.

Omega's nato is probably the most comfortable strap I own. It a coated nylon fabric against the wrist.

One of my four watches is a dive watch. But I've also been a certified rescue diver for 23 years, so it isn't exactly a desk diver. I'm on my boat pretty regularly.

But Nomos looks like a fashion watch.
