Love it. My wife bought we one just like it a few years ago. Probably worth double now. I feel like it's a little to much for daily wear but prices are too high for a regular stainless model.

My Bluesy had a purchase price that started with a 6. I'm sure my kids will pay the taxes on that profit because I'm not selling it even if I need an organ transplant.

I'm a big Seiko fan as well. Just ordered 55th Anniversary 65MAS reinterpretarion SBP149. Really liking pictures of the new "Sharp Edge" GMTs. Any recommendations on a good Seiko showroom in the area? Authorized dealers currently either mid level or Grand Seiko level ever since Seiko split off it's "Luxe" subpremium line. Doesn't make any since, but closest Luxe dealer is Victoria/San Antonio.

Same. I like Seiko for their $400 - $600 automatics. All of my watches other than my Rolex are Seikos. Really solid quality watches that I'm not worried about wearing in the field.

The skx was only like $225 or so when I bought mine. I'm guessing you can't find the old 007s for that much anymore.

Yeah, I paid around there for my 007 and 009. Now it looks like they're around $350 on IslandWatch.com.

yeah there really aren't any, the only one I know of is Timeless Luxury Watches in Dallas. I think Zadok might carry Grand Seiko, and they say online that they have them in stock, but I never saw them when I was there in person. I buy pretty much all of mine online, but it's tough to pull a trigger from a marketing photo when the $$$ get high.

Zadok had several gs in the case when i was in there a few months ago

I agree that it's annoying but you couldn't you have the crystal swapped for a sapphire one for like a hundred bucks?

If you believe that the ali express watch quality is on par with the skx then yes I'd agree with you. I wonder if it's a marketing conundrum for them, like they have been bragging about hardlex for decades then how would it look if all of a sudden they decide to junk it for sapphire

the point isn't that an aliexpress watch is the same overall quality. it's that the price discrepancy is rather extreme especially given that those cheapo watches almost all have NH35 movements (and sapphire crystals and milled clasps). not to mention the well known QC issues seiko has been having of late with misaligned bezels or dials.


on top of that there are tons of micro brands that i would say are definitely in the same league of quality that have those features and charge a good bit less than what seiko charges.

check out the youtube channel Just One More Watch. every week he's featuring some new microbrand watch with great specs and interesting designs.

Cool I'll check out that channel. I just have a preconception that phoibos, islander, alibaba special, etc, all the seiko knockoffs are made in the same factory in China to whoever's specs (like all the boutique optics out there). I'm probably off base. Also doesn't seiko have a Japanese and a cheaper chinese made version of their movements? Do the boutique manufacturers specify which nh35 they're using? This is probably all covered on that youtube channel. I'll check it out. Thanks!

Just flew through a Wempe duty free. Cases full of GMTs, ceramic Daytonas, DD, DJ, SD, yachtmasters and subs. All display only (but fully functioning movement). Few weeks ago the same location had nothing on display except for some 34mm two tone ladies watches.

If anyone is interested in the new moonwatch, having to offload this one quick. $5250 final price if anyone is interested. Worn only for the picture. Full set. Probably won't see it this cheap anywhere else.

AD price is $6300 plus tax (~$6800 unless you get discounts).

Probably will be gone by end of day
