My Christopher ward is the nicest I take to Europe, usually 2-4x a year for work and leisure. Just not worth it to have to worry. Even with that I've noticed glaring eyes in the cities as it looks like a much more expensive piece unless you're up close

Thieves are real bad and aggressive in countries where people can't have guns or other weapons legally.
My bookkeeper was mugged in Italy for her very thin gold chain, which she thought was out of sight below her collar. The thug hit her in the head from behind, knocking her down on the sidewalk in daylight with people around. African immigrant and he got away with her jewelry while she went to the hospital last summer.

She's back from the Seiko Repair Center- new crystal, face, hands, crown, and movement fixed. They even polished the bezel. Looks and runs like brand new after some water ingress. After and before picks. Took a while to get the correct Malaysian market face which has rectangles instead of dots at the hour markers.

A little over $300. You can get an accurate quote on the front end on their website though. You just need the serial number from the caseback and then select what you want done.

Hamilton Jazzmaster Chronograph automatic probably gives you the most recognizable name for the money. For the best watch, I'd go for the steel Seiko Speedtimer Solar and put it on an aftermarket leather strap.
