The next watch I buy will likely be a Nomos or Panerai. I will have both eventually, so it depends on which I find first that speaks to me.
I love my Nomos and get lots of compliments on it. My "what's next?" list is quite small at the moment. I know that I want a Zenith Chronomaster Open 39.5 at some point this year, but beyond that it's wide open.
My next will be an Anordain. On the waitlist for 2026 and have been since 2022. God knows what prices will be by then...

I don't see it that way. It goes towards the price of the watch and designed to weed out people would logjam the line if they have no intention of buying. Just that much extra time to ask people if they are going to by, wait for them to hem and haw and ultimately back out.

No, i don't think so, which is why I think it's kind of crazy that it's non-refundable and multiple years out.

I wonder what happens when 2 or 3 years later and cost have rissen 30%-40% and they can't afford to continue orders?

Imagine if Rolex charged 10% of the retail price to get on a list and be guaranteed getting a watch in a certain timeframe.
Would you pay $1k non-refundable to get a Sub in 2027 or a Pepsi GMT in 2028? I definitely would; that system would be light years better than what's happening today.
When demand far exceeds supply weird things happen, so at least anOrdain was proactive and got some system in place allowing everyone to have a shot at getting one.
