Hello again family, long time lurker second time poster, wanted to gush a little bit about a fairly new watch I've gotten which is one of the most impressive I've seen in a while, the new Planet Ocean ultra-deep O-mega steel.
The name is stupid, but the new steel is incredible. It's much harder than traditional stainless, and the color is much whiter, giving it a luster equal to white gold. My favorite thing is that it.does.not.scratch. I've been wearing the watch daily for about a month and have zero marks on the clasp, the bracelet or the case. Omega actually hit this one out of the park, and I can't wait to see what else they build in this material.

It is huge, but not overwhelmingly so, it's 18mm, which is about .4mm thicker than the DSSD, but is almost a whole mm thinner than their previous Planet Ocean Chrono 8900 which was a hockey puck.Sea Speed said:

Is Singapore good for watch shopping? Or is it rife for counterfeits?
Depends on where you're shopping. It is pretty easy to search authorized dealers on the manufacturer's website. Plenty of places selling used stuff and you'll be able to find those from an easy search too.
Are prices better than even our bud FTAC can get us?
I couldn't tell you now personally. I haven't been there since 2019. I have no idea what COVID and the luxury watch rush did to the Singapore sales market.

I've never seen more standalone brand watch shops than in Singapore. Seems like every mall had a nice store with the usual collection of brands then a standalone Rolex, Omega, IWC, etc etc stores.
The conspicuous spending of money in Singapore is only matched by the Gulf states.
I went to probably 5 or 6 rolex ADs in sing and there wasn't a single sport watch for sale. I went to one AP and they had one gaudy royal oak for sale. Didn't even try Patek.
I figured you guys would feel my pain. Inherited a ladies steel and rose gold date just with an aubergine face with diamonds. I love it. Today I took it off to put it away and as I walked into the bathroom my sleeve caught on the door lever… I dropped the watch. It landed badly on a hard tile floor. Repairs will not be cheap.
Were they insured?
