there's a Fudruckers by my place and the manager special is a 1/4 burger, fries and a drink for something like $6.99. I don't think Whataburger is much cheaper. They have a pretty decent selection of beer on tap as well.

It's always pretty empty though so who knows how long it will last.

I need more deets please. Is it just a whole grilled ribeye put between buns, is it marinated slices of ribeye, how is the ribeye cooked etc., what feexins are used??? TIA

Whataburger. Fudds beef is tasteless to me, but their buns are great.

You can get a kids meal even if you aren't a kid.

Cheeseburger kids meal; fries, drink, cookie

Less than $5.50 which is cheaper than Whataburger.

For the price I go to Fudruckers

For the better burger I like Freddy's

They are whole, thinly sliced ribeyes. We marinate them and grill them. Some of the people cut the ribeyes in half but most just put the whole thing on the fudruckers bun. We typically have lettuce, tomatoes, etc out but most people eat them just plain, maybe with a little bit of BBQ sauce.

You can get a burger cooked not well done at fudd's. This trumps a dried out paper thin well done burger anytime.
Fuddruckers has a great concept, I think if they had other food and changed their branding/atmosphere they'd do much better. If you don't want burger, chicken or salad, then you're SOL.

Their ribeye sandwich is very good. They are cut fresh daily to approximately 6oz. The ribeye platter is same thing but 10oz and with sides. This was 15 years ago anyway. Both are cooked to order.

There are very few things in a fuddruckers that isnt made from scratch daily. The fried items are about the sole exception, and ketchup and mustard.

Buns, patties, garlic bread, pico, sauces, croutons, guacamole... Every vegetable comes whole and is sliced, diced or shredded.

it's a tough concept now. There's a ton of "gourmet" or higher end burger options now and most do a big take out business. Fudrucker's was designed to be a dine-in option.

I was surprised about how nice they Meyerland location was. Good bar and a ton of big screens. It wouldn't be my first pick to watch a game but there are worse options out there.

Yeah, don't think I'd pick it to go and hang out with some friends and watch the game.

But it does make it a good option for kids after a ball game, etc. Like you said, definitely worse places to be at on a Saturday with kids in tow...

Disclaimer: I don't have kids so this is mainly assumptions.

it's definitely set up with that in mind. Opposite the bar is an arcade.

Thanks. I may even try this using my wife's Korean BBQ marinade, even if it seems borderline blasphemous.
