Being highly ranked on Yelp doesn't make it THE place for anything. The food is above average at best, the restaurant is small, and the parking situation sucks. There are plenty of better places to try.

You can go up the road to pho huy and get a pork bahn Mi that is just as good if not better, softer bread, and a small brisket pho' and have a better eating experience. Just fyi.

I disagree. Unless he has turned Into a ******** the lsu guy at the register always is friendly and shoots the **** about how cool a&m is. In fact he tells me the same story every time I go in there about him going to college station and buying coors original and bringing it back to Baton Rouge for all his frat brothers. He has never trashed talked a&m.

Thursday night around 1:30am I had Katz's again.

It was once again amazing.

I still can not say that I've eaten their food sober though

I went to Zero's today specifically because of this thread. I had no idea it was just a couple blocks away from my office. The price was certainly right, with a good sized sandwich for under $5.00, but it wasn't anything to write home about. I had the smoked turkey and cheese and it was decidedly average. I would take Schlotzky's over Zero's any day.

I hit up Jersey Mike's today for lunch and thought it was so so. Definitely not worth the $10 I spent on the sandwich, chips and drink.

Any good places around the Energy Corridor that are good? I'm about burned out on JJ's amd the other chain spots around (Firehouse, Lenny's, etc).

Central market makes some legit sammichs and the lady watching is SKRONG! Southwest meatloaf is great! Surprised no one mentioned it. I used to mock the suggesyion till I tried it.

Nothing wrong with that. I feel the same way about some of the sandwiches I can get at Kroger. The Big Boss Italian is A+, but the eye candy doesn't usually show up until after 6:00.

The PoBoy at BBs is good but it in no way compares to the PoBoy from The Cajun Stop in Eado...They get the bread right at the Cajun Stop...and after growing up in New Orleans area...that really matters as far as poboys go...

Barhn Mi - Les Grivals...hands down...the price is incredible

Pappa Ginos for a Philly Cheesesteak...

Cold Cuts...im ok with Jersey Mike's ...but carter and cooley's is good

Mexico Deli - Tortas
Logan Farms - Cuban
Phoenicia Deli - Schwarma "sandwich"
Bahn Mi at 20 places on Bellaire - Don, Alpha Bakery, Paris, B-10 Bistro
"Anthony's" Subs - Antone's knock-off, almost identical
