I think its a McDonalds going in. I had heard a while back one was going to be built around the Silverado.

Way to big of an area clear for just a McDonalds. I was kind of hoping for some commercial development. I keep waiting for more stuff to go in besides the Roadhouse.

Yeah, that huge area around the Silverado and roadhouse is in a huge need for development. A lot of opportunity for some good restaurants/retail. Your right, that area is too big for just a Mcd's. I just say that because I saw a sign a few months back for hiring for the soon to be built MCDonalds at Northpointe and 249.

Well I hope so. I'd love some more actual restaurants over there. I can't believe nothing has been developed yet....guess the economy is playing into that. I live in Canyon Gate so it would be nice to have options other than Panera, Roadhouse, and fast food around.

Although I'd much rather 249 go through at Northpointe than development that this point. I hate that place around 5PM.

Tomball Tollway is coming soon to a SH 249 near you. I am looking at the schematic on my desk as I type. Phase 1 which takes SH 249 from its current terminus up to the bypass around Tomball is planned to be constructed before the Grand Parkway. Going to be LOTS of construction going on around SH 249 and Boudreaux Road within the next 2 to 3 years.

I heard that HCTRA decided that moving the power lines was too expensive so they are not going to build that connector.

It's definitely expensive, and the main reason why that last DC there hasn't been built yet. There's also RR issues too. The design plans are actually done, and I don't think it is dead by any means. Plus, I know Commissioner Cagle wants it done as well. I'll see if I can get a better update, sorry.

Hopefully some restaurants and such. I do remember seeing at the gleannloch McDonald's one drunk night there was a sign for a mcds going in there. I guess that explains why they demolished that nice bank there.

Hopefully it will be restaurants and shopping and not more houses full of kids. /teacher voice.

tyler i lived in canyon gate too.. it was def. right in between.. either had to go 2 miles east or 2 miles west to get to anything really. and they need to put in a U-turn at canyon gate as well for silverado traffic exiting to go back south.. it totally clogs up the light, and I guess most movie goers don't know they can exit the parking lot on south side and hit the light at northpointe.

A coworker who lives further down Northpointe mentioned at a time there were plans for apartments. I hope that's not the case.

Defiantly looks like the ground work for a McDonalds going in on the corner though.
