Anyone eaten here? Any good?

They just opened one in Atascocita and as a Kingwood resident I'm wondering if it's worth crossing the lake for?

I just ate at the one off beltway 8...it was really good and pretty cheap compared to other mexican restaurants.

I haven't been to the Atascocita location but I've been to the one in Crosby and the one on BW8 too. It's another good, but not great, choice for the Upper East Side. It's better than Las Ramadas cross the parking lot.

Thanks.

Haven't been to Las Ramadas but had been to the joint that was in the same building before Iguana Joe's and that place was acceptable but not great.

Will probably give it a shot, but Chachis in Kingwood Town Center in my current go to for Mexican these days.

I think it was El Rancho before it was Iguana Joe's. That place was awful. Is Chachi's the one in Town Center? I like El Charro too. Our go-to Mexican place in the area is La Villa on 1960.

Yeah - Chachi's is in Town Center - we like it a lot and pick up from there quite often.

We've been to El Charro once and liked it as well, but we haven't been back for some reason.

Las Palomas or something like that in the front of Kingwood was terrible

La Villa is tops for the upper east side. I also like Los Vega, but seems that not many others do.

Las Ramadas = the suck, not even worthy of a "meh" but they charge out the ass

Rancho Grande (former inhabitant of Iguana Joe's location) = meh, but really cheap

Can't speak to the other places but I'm a big fan of El Senor Fish on 1960. It's about halfway between W. Lake Houston and the lake. Their fish tacos are outstanding and their other stuff is pretty good too. And cheap.

The Norton's right next door to it closed. We were there on a Sunday and they were out of Dr. Pepper. Waiter said they were being bought out, but the deal fell through and they didn't know what was going to happen. Drove by on the following Wednesday on the way to soccer practice and they were closed.

+1 on the Las Ramadas suck.

I'll cross the lake for Sharkey's though.

Elsie- you'd do better to cross the lake to the east to Cedar Landing instead of to the north for Sharkey's.

I've been to Sharkey's a couple of times and personally I think it sucks. It's about on par with Long John Silver's in my book.

Didn't care much for Norton's either. Bad food and poor/slow service don't make for a good bar/pub. I like the building and location though, I wonder if the area would support a real gastropub-type place.

Sharkeys is awful!

Yeah, Nortons location has potential....someday. I also think the old Wells Fargo location in front of Fall Creek has great potential for a bar/restaurant.

We've had good and bad experiences with Cedar Landing. Been really good a couple of times and really "meh" a couple of times. Never had a problem with Sharkey's food or service.
