Sirois was talking about his newest resolution is being punctual and he was ironically late to the taping yesterday.
He said the reason he was late was because he was "cry laughing" listening to the ticket midday show.
I've always been the biggest sirois fan and thought he was done dirty by the ticket. But at the same time, if he stuck it out as long as he did he was soooo dumb to leave when he did. Did he really think washed up rhyner would be able to compete with the ticket from scratch? Rhyner didn't give a **** about sirois and only took him to try and stick it to the ticket.
Sirois was really dumb for not seeing through that and not just staying at the ticket to get a host gig. I get it if sirois would've left 8-10 years ago. But leaving when he did seemed very dumb.
I've always liked him so hopefully he's doing well. And maybe it was still a good decision. I just wish he was a just at the ticket. He would be great with Donny, Monty or literally anyone.
He should start his on podcast. I won't pay for the dumb zone bc it's just not that good (and this is coming from someone who listened to every episode of the hang zone). but i would definitely pay for a sirois podcast no question.
I get the timing is different, and opinion on these guys are mixed at best with this group, but Ben and Skin were weekend/drydock guys 20 years ago. Up until norm left in the past 2 years, they would have had no shot at a real gig. Instead they went Live 105 to ESPN to the Fan to the Eagle to recruiting Rhyner and starting the freak, now back to the Eagle. They are both in their 50s now with kids in college. Had they stayed on for 40-50k a year, instead of probably 2 decades of 6 figures, probably hefty since moving to the fan (guessing 200 minimum in the last few stops), where would their families be?
Again, I know what many think of them, but Sirois, Danny, and Julie were all in that same boat. Sirius and Danny both got passed up for full time roles and better paychecks. They saw an avenue that in the short term paid them better than they ever got close to with the ticket.
It failed. That happens. Hopefully they both find a new avenue that makes them decent money. I doubt Danny's 3rd wheeling the DZ is doing that.
Yeah, I don't think there was anything wrong with making the jump. They had a good commitment from I heart radio and a pretty dang good lineup. I was actually surprised it didn't work.
