I think McLaren has more to offer for sports talk than Donnie. I've never thought Donnie had much. He has a place for sure but I think he was the lowest ranking of all the hosts until the latest changes. He was much better as 3rd wheel to BaD radio than a host.

This 1-3 show is bad, makes The Sweet Spot seem great.
The Ticket has no bench now due to the mismanagement of Norm/Sorios situation and they lost Danny too. Their "bench" was Sean and Mino, who were on the bench for a reason. Now they are in the game and showing zero improvement. I bet there are several thousand men in the DFW area that could go up to the station and do sports talk and all that for from 1pm-3pm better than Sean and Mino. Granted these men have put time into public speaking, are organized and thoughtful, and have an IQ over 95.tejas_ayanem said:

I think it's funny that people still think that Cumulus mismanaged 10-3. Those hours had enormous costs and the only ratings that matter are for drive time. What happened to 10-3 was on purpose from high up, Cat was just the messenger.
So they kept paying Norm and is massive salary so they could purposely lose talent in Sirois and Danny and then got embarrassed by Dan and Jake but clear their salary so they can take a rating hits, loss in ad revenue, and replace the pros with what equates to single A players? There is no good way to corporately manage radio these days. It's a dying industry that shrinks daily in America. The average age of the Ticket listener goes up every month, and their audience shrinks.
Overhead walking out the door isn't going to be replaced and costs are continuing to increase, while revenue decreases. They're squeezing the juice out of this thing for as long as they can but it's going to die in the next 15 years at most….probably closer to 10.
Sirios wasn't going to save that and neither was anyone else.

Sirois and Donnie would be 2X the show and likely cheaper than Mclearin.

It's not like they drove norm out when he was just past retirement age. The guy was upper 70s. 10-3 was mismanaged.
This is true. I think listeners are simply frustrated at the mismanagement of the station and how it is unlistenable at times. It is hard enough to deal with Junior is weak cry baby nonsense.Stive said:

Sirois was at least good radio and had good chemistry with Donnie. Not gonna save the Ticket when Bob and the Musers decide to call it a career, but they'd at least have 3 hours covered by a show that has the type of personality that made this station popular vs Bro Show and Generic Sportstalk.
I mean, 10-3 right now are literally the types of shows they used to mock.

Top-line revenue has essentially maxed out for terrestrial radio. When top-line stops, only way to make money is reducing bottom-line expenses. I don't think Cumulus was actively looking to cut any of the Ticket staff but they weren't going to give them raises to keep them around if they were looking elsewhere.
Cat ****ed this up a long time ago. He can blame management, etc but the message needed to be **** You Norm you are pastured by X date and Sirois we are retaining you at a minimum host rate until Norm leaves.
When the Musers retire (I guess soon), this station is going to die.

I'm curious if Junior's daughter swings him to retiring sooner or later. He either wants to spend more time with her or thinks he needs to keep working from a financial standpoint.
I'm going to guess Jub is indifferent and will walk whenever Gordo and Junior decide to go.
Gordo seems to be the wildcard as I bet he still loves the creative challenge. He's dabbled in some other stuff but nothing has grabbed hold like The Ticket.
I do think once Gordo goes it's over. They'll never be able to replicate the chemistry once he's done.
I think they'll all decide to go together though. What a sad day that will be.

Gordo is also only about 50 while the other 2 are pushing 60. I think George and Junior go before he does, and when that happens, I could see him going the podcast route

Why can't they just play "the Best of the Musers or even the Ticket as a whole" when they are out? I listen to 92.5 (Classic Rock) a lot when I'm not listening to the Ticket and they play "the Best of Bo & Jim" when they are out.

As bad as some of the dry dock shows can be, I'd still prefer a live show with Tier 4 guys than a best of for 3 weeks.
