It is a pretty inexplicable move though. Dak isn't going anywhere and Cooper Rush just got guaranteed money as a serviceable backup, so he's not going anywhere either. Lance isn't improving his trade stock at all as a third stringer and a 4th round pick is a valuable asset. If Dak and Rush somehow both get hurt, Lance isn't good enough to salvage the season. It truly doesn't make sense.

What team is going to salvage their season with their 3rd string QB? I don't think that's what this move was about and I agree that the shows seem to have latched on to it as a talking point that isn't very interesting.

I get where you're coming from, but i think it being the QB position trumps all that. It's the most important position in football and maybe all of pro sports. Being good at that position is the single biggest variable to success in the sport.

Something to keep in mind. Dak is 30 and so is Rush. McCarthy has been on record forever as to always wanting a young developmental QB on the roster at all times. He has said he would like to take a flier on a QB every year late in the draft if it were up to him.

I think you can question if it's going to amount to anything, but I think to use the word inexplicable is off base, IMO.

Cooper Rush's money is like 2 million guaranteed. It's not as if he's not expendable.

If you think Trey Lance has a higher upside, why wouldn't you grab him? It's the same reason 5-6 other teams were trying to as well (eg. Buffalo, who has their QB position set). Maybe he shows something and you use him as trade bait. Maybe he becomes a solid #2 that you can rely on (we've complained about not having this for years).

Or, maybe you waste a 4th round pick. It's a minimal risk, with potential upside.

But all this angst, analyzing the 3rd string QB spot is silly. This is what a team should be doing, across their entire roster...trying to improve their depth.

I think she was 18 but still in high school. He went to her prom iirc

This is so insane that I wonder if it's true. It's one thing to date an 18 year old when you are 30. It's a completely different level on the psycho spectrum to then go to prom. If that's true, I can't imagine being that void of self awareness. It makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Like does he not have friends who would tell him "what in the literal ****" if he told them he was planning on going to prom?

I usually download a segment or two from the top ten to listen to as I take my 2 year old around the block in the evenings. Talk about a bunch of nothing. The choices lately have been weak to quite weak.
