Let me start off by stating that I only heard the opening minutes of 103.3 FM ESPN's Choppy & Greggo last night. But just in that smidge, Greg Williams sounded, well, incoherent.

Again, I didn't hear these, but multiple people have suggested Greggo:

*Made an obscure reference to his affection for submarines when the show's topic was clearly Mavs-Nuggets.

*Blurted out something along the lines of "Capital, I, pinch, pinch, one ... (long pause) ... I mean ..."

For a translation/explanation, I called Greggo this afternoon.

"I switched anti-depressant medication," Williams told me. "I felt a little out of it last night, yeah."

While his doctors tweak medications, dosages, etc., Williams will take at least tonight off.

I was pretty frustrated with the little ticket this morning on my drive in. I wanted a little Rangers talk, given that they are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, winners of five in a row, and now in first place. What I got was Dirk's psycho girlfriend, NFL notes, Josh Howard's injury, and an update on their great game practice.

I've been tuning out on the hardline with great regularity lately, and now more and more with the musers. I guess I'm transitioning from P2 to P3 status.

Well, it sounds like you drove during their worst time for segments. My morning commute sucks because of the where it is in their segments. 2 double commericial breaks, and 1 short segement.

The ticket has always been Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys.

Dirk's weird girlfriend story is a lot more interesting to me right now than the Rangers. Sure, they won again last night....but what can they really say about the Rangers that they didn't already say yesterday (besides being first place at the moment)?? I also doubt George or Craig saw much of the game considering how late it was.

You can expect BaD Radio to use their "First Place Texas Rangers" drop today though.

I'll give you the Dirk story, it was interesting and very newsworthy. But to do a segment on their PRACTICE for their charity baseball game before discussing a local professional sports team who has just moved into first place, that's a bit self-absorbed.

The 6:50 segment always sucks. And if you've been listening to the ticket ever, you know they're self absorbed.

Anyone know if Bascik is playing?

Yeah, I know. I should also just accept the fact that I love the Rangers more than any other sports team in the area, which puts me in a category with about 7 other people, so I should just get used to the fact that nobody cares...

I think he's just managing...but Rusty was supposed to only manage last year too and he had an AB. Maybe we'll have Bascik pitching to Rusty this year at the end of the game or something...

If no sponsors had stepped up, would we have been spared the narcissism of the "great" game? The shtick has become tiresome.

I remember being very frustrated with the Musers in 2004 over the Rangers. Every morning the same thing: "Well looks like the Rangers won again, but there's no WAY that they can keep this up. I can't believe anyone would expect this team to make the playoffs!!!" I think Craig may have permanently turned on the team a little after his blowout on-air shouting match with Tom Schieffer, but that was a long time ago.

Ha, I think I lost my P2 status this spring as well. Was a P1 for 6-7 years but I lost that status last summer and now this... I am 33 now so I must be moving out of the Ticket's demographic.

Don't know why but besides maybe the Musers on my way in I just don't want to listen anymore, would rather tune in the Ranch or listen to the ipod.

I'm just saying that I bet that a majority of their P1 listeners are in their 20's and early 30's versus the later years. Don't care to do any research but that is my hunch.

And it sounds like there is some truth to the Dirk story. How come this crap comes up every year during the playoffs? Last year drugs, this year a love child with a girlfriend (fiance?) on probation.

BTW, I don't watch WFAA but it sounds like Bret Shipp is a d-bag from the press conference recaps.

I haven't heard the press conference recap, but I do watch WFAA, and he is a D-bag. He's an "investigative" reporter, so he doesn't have the ability to approach people politely. He always comes off as a d**k.

Does anyone remember Brett Shipp calling into the Musers about a year ago to defend Laura Miller on not getting the Cowboys? It was about the time that the new Cotton Bowl upgrades were unveiled.

His argument was that Dallas couldn't do it because they were already capped on sales taxes and her hands were tied. It wasn't her fault.

Hello dumbass, there are other ways to raise taxpayer revenue. Sales tax is not the only revenue source for a city. Houston has built three new stadiums all while having the same sales tax cap as Dallas.

Hell, in addition to Arlington raising their sales tax they're also implementing a 10% ticket tax from what I've seen.

Anyone that says Dallas couldn't get a stadium is a dumbass.

The stadium fiasco is a tragedy that Dallas will rue for a very long time. Can you imagine that thing where the ghetto by fair park is? Like on the corner of Malcom X and MLK?
