The county voted to fine business $500 if they do not tell customers to wear masks.

These are the Commissioners that voted for it: (3-2 Vote)

District 1 - Dr. Theresa Daniel
Theresa.Daniel@dallascounty.org
214-653-6668

District 4 - Dr. Elba Garcia
Elba.GarciaDDS@dallascounty.org
214-339-8381
Along with the idiot Clay Jenkins as the 3rd vote.

Take a look at the map and you may want to call/email your commissioner.

Here is the person running against Theresa Daniel in District 1. Who incidentally looks like Gus Fring from Breaking Bad. (May just be the glasses.)

Crazy the amount of people who are wanting mask mandates even in TX.

Yep. I think I am done with Dallas. Tired of living with Morons.

Masks are effective to prevent the spread. We don't have a vaccine, and may not until next year. We hate shutdowns and the toll they take on the economy. So, remind me again, why we should be upset about this?

But if there was an easy way for us to reduce the number of car deaths then we would do it, right?

death is not the only terrible thing that can happen as a result of COVID. many survivors have serious health complications that linger afterwards, some that will be issues for the rest of their lives.

Lingering - after this virus has been around for 6 month we understand rest of life impact. Yep, makes sense.....

What's the reason for not wanting to wear a mask? It's uncomfortable? You think you look silly? You don't like being told what to do?

Sack up and get over it.

This isn't about wearing a mask vs not wearing a mask. It is about the government mandating it.

Good news. Hopefully the mask mandate will keep numbers level and help out with the upcoming Flu season.

I'll never understand people who have no issues with government taking more and more of our individual liberties away in the name of safety.

There's nothing wrong with wearing a mask. I wore one the other day because I do feel like there is enough research now to justify it. That said, it's never more important than our first amendment right not to wear one. And don't get that confused with a businesses right to require one.

We're all adults here. If this flu scares you enough to give up your rights to wear what you pleases or more importantly require what you please in your own business then by all means stay home. Don't infringe on my choice because you think it's best.

So, if the government said you were not allowed to wear a mask, I'm guessing you would be first in line to put one on?

Have you ever seen any of the archive clips from NBC5 in Dallas that they air from time to time? I think it was last year, they aired a clip from street interviews they did with people when seat belt laws went into affect in Texas. There were a lot of irate people who thought it was ridiculous and intrusive and there was no way they were going to wear a seat belt or go along with being told what to do. People can be quite irrational sometimes...

It is intrusive. It's not the states job to protect you from stupidity. Stop giving elected officials power.

Absolutely. Why is that hard to comprehend. I'm sorry that I don't like to give governments power who at one time enslaved people, gave disease ridden blankets to people, that denied people the right to marry who they please, that conduct illegal drug wars, that spy on innocent civilians, that murder individuals purely because they're different, who at the threat of imprisonment make people spend money on health care. Should I go on?
