My wife and I graduated from A&M in 2003 and have lived in Austin since 2004. Currently leaving in Rosedale.

Can't speak for others but my 3 cost about 100k each.

300k in my pocket now looks pretty good

300 is way low. More likely 500 all said and done

The average cost of a kid, from what I've read, is about $250k apiece.
I don't think I would be a good dad.
Mental health concerns in family history.
I like my time way too much.

My guess is the reasons vary greatly. We just never felt compelled to have children. We're godparents twice over with a few nieces and nephews. Hopefully one of them will make sure we end up in a good old folks home one day.

The extra money is a nice perk too.

I'm class of 92. My wife is a longhorn class of 92. I've been in Austin since 1996. She has been here most of the time since she was in 8th grade.

We have some rules in place, in case one of us ever wants to stay home. It's basically the non working person is responsible for all house hold duties and has dinner and drink ready when the worker gets home. Both of us enjoy our jobs enough that this probably won' ever happen.
