Sort of. There are pros and cons for the two systems. Single members tend to do what is best for the city even over the objection of the council members' area that is most affected. You can also get alliances that block vote against one or two areas. The advantage is you don't have one area of town ruling over the entire agenda because the perception is that is a strong group of voters or all of the council is from that area.

The hybrid is the probably the best system and what Bryan has in place. Single member districts with a few at large along with the mayor.

Hard to listen to 2 hrs of audio, wish there was a youtube we could FF through to see what we want

I know KBTX streamed it at one point, but am not sure if they are releasing it. I liked that our long forum interviews were on YouTube so you could speed them up. I know for place 5 we went first so that has been helpful for me in terms of sharing the content. However, place 2 went last so you'd have to scrub a bit to find it.

There's another forum tonight if you'd like to come and listen in person. A bit of a different layout but still an opportunity.
