Imo on the local level absolutely higher property taxes and higher insurance rates are affecting spending.
New owners are classmates of mine. They are located at Hwy 21 and Tabor Road in a gas station/quick stop. They are on FaceBook too and do special events.BCStalk said:13B said:

Went to Mr.G's pizzeria after church. Then went to Billy's Bar & grille for root beer floats after.
My home insurance renewal went up 37% and we've really cut back on our eating out.

Thats crazy because I would imagine your insurance was 3-4000. Which means a 12-1600 dollar jump in just insurance and probably the tax appraisal is not far behind
I agree with you! They don't have the 'full menu' any more - probably since the Pandemic. And 4 years out - I doubt they will get back to it. My friend misses the kitchen sink omlettetrouble said:
That's your experience. We've tried to go too many times when they should have been open and they weren't over the last few years that we've mostly stopped trying.
I won't head over there now unless I've checked Facebook. Lots of other folks in the meals and deals group have had the same experience I have.

In that strip center at Brothers and Longmire behind Walmart.
They make their own baked goods and they are really good. Best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. My wife meets her girlfriends there for coffee and a croissant sandwich some weekend mornings.
Absolutely. This economy is terrible on restaurants.ElephantRider said:
I'm not specifically talking about restaurants, just the economy as a whole leading people to eat out less. Several industries (o&g, insurance, grocery chains to name a few) are making a killing right now.

where was the original Jason's Deli in college station?lorilyn93 said:
Jason's Deli is Aggie owned. Joe Tortorice Jr., the founder, was in the Corps with my uncle, Class of '70. It is named for his oldest son, Jay, who was at A&M while I was there. I consider it local.
