I emptied one gauge at 6". The other stops recording at 6" and then it had another inch to overflow. It was over.
Now horrible lightning and we are about to catch it again.

Coming down the newly finished Wellborn Rd was a nightmare. Right lanes were flooded and not sure how some cares made it, was worried about my truck.
Car flooded in ditch next to furniture store, think they missed the road turning as you couldn't see road vs ditch....

Bee creek on Longmire was flooded, a few cars under water.
They closed Texas ave for about 15mins southwest to decan, it is open now

Power out in Central Bryan going on 3 hours now and BTU just keeps leaving with no power restored.
6.5 inches in just over two hours. Worst I've seen it since moving here 4 years ago. HWY30 and Harvey area.
Dumb question for the water experts: is all this rain at least helping our aquifer or does the runoff negate that?

I am no water expert. But I think what happens North/Northeast of BCS is what matters for our aquifer.
Get out now and enjoy these temps. This is as good as it gets until November!

I thought our aquifer went in a V up towards Arkansas?
Our aquifer is massive.

2 weeks ago we had 6" in <4 hours.

They got hammered.
Sure glad we didn't get the wind Houston did. As I was outside trying to redirect water flow, I kept thinking about how soggy the ground was and watching for trees to topple over on me. This was such a wild, unexpected storm.

They had 80-100 mph straight line winds plus the tornado that came from Waller. A Cat 1 hurricane.
Tapped out at just over 5 inches. And yes Houston got crushed.

Neighbors tree fell over the fence and is now mostly 15-20 yards into my back yard.
Just missed going into my pool so Im grateful for that.
