Obviously understand you can't give details on the project next to PopStroke you referred to in the WTAW interview, but any idea on a timeline of when we might hear something publicly about it?
Probably after the holidays. There's a ton going on immediately north of university drive, which is why I asked that we deliberate possibly doing a "Small Area Plan for Northgate & the University Corridor." There are at least 7 developments / redevelopments happening. Publicly disclosable are Hensel Park, the Hurricane Harry's tract, City of Bryan's NorthXNorthgate, the city of CS parking lot sale and a few other student towers in permitting. Also two pedestrian bridges and/or underpasses are approved for $15 million in federal funding.
I advocate for a Northgate 2040 planned approached. I don't want to look back in 15 years and wonder why we didn't think of ______ at this pivotal moment. I've lived here since getting out of the USAF in 89 and I've never seen anything like what's happening. Exciting, but must get it right.
To me, it's connectivity, connectivity, connectivity. I sit at the stack and watch students on bikes and on foot. It's too chopped up and blocked off everywhere. Need throughways and well lit paths/trails to move people around.
I could go on but wanted to give you some background color on what I'm thinking. I'm all ears if anyone has constructive suggestions.
Respectfully,
Yancy
