STOP PUTIN Guy deserves a spot in this thread.

Dude parked next to me at Rellis on the fourth. Parked so close I couldn't get my three year old in/out of his car seat and had to move my truck.

Used to have a beer (or a few) with Colonel after a Tuesday evening class one semester. Gave him a few rides home and always a nice guy to talk to with good stories. In one of our first visits, we connected the dots that he and my grandmother went to school together in Tyler.

Two of the more recent ones we see are the "orange" guy that stands/sits and talks to himself at the corner of Decatur & Barron Road.

There's also now the "homeless mask guy" at the corner of University and Hwy. 6 feeder road (east side). He also usually has a camp under the University Drive bridge just east of the bypass. Been there for months with his hand out. He was back this morning after briefly moving away while they were doing some construction work under that bridge.

Ok mood better after coffee, so I'll play: the guy with all the religious stuff, and the Israeli flag on his vehicle.

His name is Elijah. He goes between CS and Lubbock.
Elijah bought a few acres of brush land out near Alpine moved and built a home from a shipping container. He had set up a solar water collector. He comes back here every year or two for a few weeks. There has been a number of newspaper articles written about him over the years. He worked at Whataburger/Dominik for years cleaning the parking lot/windows. He lived behind in has funky trailer he pulled with the old Ford Pinto.

Bart, or "Coach" as some call him, has been written about several times throughout the years. Here are a couple blurbs from The Batt, dated 1981 and 2003. Km

Here's a story on him from KBTX ca 2010:

Used to call Highschool and Jr high basketball games with Bartley Braden 40-50 years ago. Pretty good basketball official.

Wow! He was "old" (40's maybe??) when I was in school and he'd walk around the MSC in shorty jogging shorts!

Anyone remember the bullhorn dude who would sit by Rudder and spout out endless democrat talking points during Aggie Gamedays?

Have not seen him in awhile. Figured he was not invited back at some point.

I was raised "If you don't have anything nice to say…", however, I had an awful experience with Bart and hope this helps others in the future. He used to stop and talk, leave flowers on my porch, said he'd use my restroom when I had girls renting the house a few years ago. I thought he couldn't hear and that's why he would stand so close to me. Nope. I quickly excused myself and told him he wasn't to sit on my porch anymore. He told me about a year ago he has stage 4 prostate cancer. I still see him "jogging" the neighborhood but he doesn't sit on my porch! I'm glad so many people have had positive experiences with him but (females) keep your distance.
