following because I live in woodcreek and just see cables all over the streets and in yards, will they bury all of this?
I didn't try taking it outside but I did try next to a few windows in the house. I have spray foam in my house so no radiant barrier roof. I also tried next to a glass wall from my second floor office in the business park outside of Pebble Creek near Hwy 6 and only got slightly better speeds but still well below 100 Mbps. I wish I would've noticed your post before I sent the gateway device back though. But I'm hopeful we'll have more viable options over SL soon.tfunk02 said:
From Cellmapper the towers to the North and West are capable of getting 500 down. The one to the South has seen 250 down. I am surprised you have not see better speeds! Have you tried taking it outside? Do you have a radiant barrier roof? https://www.cellmapper.net/map
W OSR Fiber or another tower in the planning stage?BrazosWifi said:It's not high on the list right now. We are focused on the rural areas. Frontier + MetroNet are going to duke it out with Suddenlink in town. I don't want to get tied up in that bloodbath, to be honest.atm86 said:BrazosWifi said:Indeed we are. But that doesn't help a lot of SL customers.ChampsAg said:
Brazos WIFI is also doing fiber in some areas
60+ miles worth so far.

When do you anticipate doing Shenandoah?
Send your address in to info@brazoswifi.com and we can double check the status. We have some projects in the planning stages.Bob2525 said:

Have your parent show their interest on our survey website: https://www.ineedbetterinternet.com. We only have 5% in Nantucket currently. If they have a nextdoor account, please have them post the link there too.aginresearch said:
On another note my Parents are in Nantucket and I sure love to see BrazosWifi jump Arrington and bring fiber from Greens Prairie Reserve. I doubt MetroNet or Frontier will bring fiber service to Nantucket since it is not inside CS city limits.
Hmm good to know.happyinBCS said:
WOW I think Suddencrap is feeling the heat I made a simple phone call no arguing I told them they now have competition my current bill is 146.51 per mo for TV and 100mbs internet my new bill going forward is 83.67 per mo I am glad to have the 43% savings and when Frontier lays fiber on my street I will switch to them. Something has changed with how they handle this area, no doubt they are feeling the pain of many cancellations
Thanks for the tip I will go through the pain and torture of calling them this weekend!Chrundle the Great said:
Just tried it, I don't live in a Frontier fiber zone, but called suddenlink retention and told them about the rate "my neighbors" get from frontier and they agreed to drop my price to just below it for 1 year w/ autopay.
I'll gladly save $30 a month while I wait on fiber to get to my street.
I actually just tried this today as well. They wouldn't match any of the numbers being thrown around from Frontier. But got $30 off a month for the next year and doubled my speed from the grandfathered 200 package to the 400.Chrundle the Great said:

Yes they told me the exact same thing. Guess I'll call next year to either continue with a promo or have a fiber option elsewhere so I can cancel.Chrundle the Great said:
And yeah I should've mentioned I was already at 400 so now it's $55 for 400 instead of the $60 for 500 frontier is offering, but close enough for my purposes.
As the retention employee was closing the phone call he did mention to "make sure and call us back in 12 months to restart this promotion" so at least they admit that's the way they are handling it haha.
