Whatever Pappadeaux is, it's good.

And none of it matters even a little bit.

While Pappadeaux has unquestionably good food, it is certainly not the pinnacle of seafood or cajun/creole. There are any number of places in Houston alone that do a better job.

Are any others besides them locating here?

Unquestionably is a strong word.

Over the years I and many folks I know have had both good and bad meals at Pappadeaux, as well as service, just like any other restaurant. The ratio of good to bad is better than average, however. And I would say that we currently have several restaurants in town that have a just as good or better ratio.

It is, after all, a very successful business model with more tendencies of a chain than an independent, which works.

I agree. We've had bad luck at The Woodlands location, for some reason. The one in Austin on 290/I35 has been consistently great, as have those in DFW we've tried.

Yes. Harris Pappas told me they were.

Issues with parking issues and neighbor worries delayed it, construction should start in January as of now, could change. Will be at old Scott & White clinic across from Fish Daddy's.

Razoos Cajun Cafe is about to open too. So several selections.

As techno himself so wisely phrased it in the coming and going thread:

Would be nice. We'll see. Until then I guess we'll make do with Razoo's & Swamp Tail's.

Back to the intended topic of this thread - I went back to Swamp Tails last night. Kids eat free on Monday and Tuesday. Food was great. Hubby enjoyed a Spicy Bloody Mary with his dinner, daughter likes their chicken tenders. Servers were still huddled at the hostess stand (I counted six) but at least our server would glance our way to make sure we didn't need anything.

Tried it out today for lunch. Great service, very attentive. The po-boy bread was soft and buttery. The oysters were yummy.

Will be going back!

Being Aggie owned and operated, we appreciate the feedback from fellow Aggies. We hope you continue to support us even with the addition of new Restaurants in the area. We do listen and try to adjust, but we get a lot of mixed signals. We get comments that we are too pricey, so we try putting some smaller portions at a lower price and then get comments that it is not enough food. We can say this, we will not sacrifice on the quality of food we purchase just to be like everyone else. We plan on being in College Station for a very long time because we are Aggies and we love it here. We have only been open for six weeks so we continue to adjust. Please keep the comments coming. We can only continue to get better with your help and support.

Thank you,

I would rather have a $10 lunch with a side than a $8 lunch that was not enough food.

You're doing great, Swamps. Just remember this lesson from Aesop when the "advice" gets overwhelming:

I stopped by and ate their last night. I ordered the gator bites appetizer and a house salad.
The gator bites were very good, but I thought the 12.95 price is too high for an appetizer and the amount of gator that is served. IMO, that portion should be priced around 8.95.

I had the lemon vinaigrette dressing and ended up dipping my gator tails in these. The sauce served with the gator tails is good, as well.

I am sure that I will try it one more time, at least.

Since you plan on being in College Station a long time, when does that location open, and how will it differ from your current Bryan location?

This is why Aggies everywhere read the Aggieland board. It's Texags most entertaining.

I think you're being a little hard on Swamp Tails here, I'm sure it was just a lack of attention to detail, not weak pettiness.
