Big mistake by "mom" interjecting herself into this situation. There's no way she has anywhere near the information that police have and it looks almost foolish to make public statements about "what's really going on".
I admire her for supporting her kids and I'd be doing the same thing, however in no way would I be serving up my opinions in the media until I knew all the facts from *both* sides....if I did offer them at all.
From the get go I felt that the media bringing the parents' names into this, while not necessarily wrong, was unnecessary. Given my original thoughts on this it's almost jawdropping to watch one of them jump into it front and center.
Let the facts come out in the trial, then go to battle and fight like hell for your kids if things don't seem on the up and up. The media is not the place to defend them in a situation like this....all the public sees are statements that appear biased, contrived and disingenuous.
