Putting in your own leaf guards are a waste of money and time. When you put them in, you still have to clean the tops of the leaf guards off. If you don't, then the weight of the wet leaves, pine straw and tree debris will make them sag and collapse into your gutters.
The debris will then get under the leaf guard and now you have to get the leaves out from under them and they are already screwed in place. You will either have to take the leaf guards back off or slice up your hands when you reach underneath them.
So, either spend the money on a true "leafless" system (ie. Gutter Helmet or their competition) or don't put in the leaf guard screens and just clean your gutters out on a regular basis.
If you need a decent seamless aluminum gutter installer then call Erlix Guitierrez @ 281 250 5451. He does work for good custom home builders all over Houston.
Make sure to ask for real gutter outlets to feed the downspouts instead of the cheap way of just cutting a jagged holes in the gutter that feed the downspouts.
5.0" gutters are standard. If your house is really steep and / or you have long runs of gutter collecting water run-off from large elevations of the roof, then go for the 6.0" gutters.
Also, use "hidden hangers" instead of spikes and ferrules. Spikes and ferrules don't work to where becuase of they loosen due to the vibration during bad rain storms.
Make sure you gutter installer advises you of any rotten fascia once the gutters are pulled off. That must be replaced and painted prior to installing gutters or the new gutters will just fall off.
If you want to go upscale and do the copper gutters then you are going to have to drop some serious money and get someone that knows what they are doing.
