I was buying garden plants yesterday and saw these. What do people use these for? Are they practical to grow?

They're very prolific. I ferment and make bottles of hot sauce for gifts to people I know can handle it.

After you harvest and dry them, put in blender to make killer chili powder. Extra bonus if you blend without lid on and face close. Ask me how I know.

I love using both of these in a variety of ways ; sauces, powdered spice, even in some alcoholic drinks (good in a bloody mary). We raise a bed of each every year.

When you say raise a bed of them

My ghost get 6 foot tall and 4-6 feet wide I cut them back and had them saved except for the 18 degree weather was to much for them

So I got two more but I am still trying to figure out what to do with them

My wife (gosh what a wife). I came home one day and could not even breathe the kitchen air I dont know how she stood the smell for so long

She was trying to make ghost pepper jelly and
The ghost peppers particles were everywhere in the air and I started caoufhing for three or more hours

I grew one of each for a couple of years and they were so hot they weren't usable. Couldn't even give them away. Each plant made a ton and they looked pretty. I used a couple in sauces but ultimately the sauces went in the trash and the peppers went to the freeze and havnt bought them since.

Save the money for tomatoes. I can write my own check when selling those. lol.

I seriously almost bought one, but chickened out. Bought a chiltipin plant so I can make some old school hot sauce - clear jar with them in vinegar and salt.

I am an avid grower of hot peppers. I love to try them, add some to chili etc, and give to friends. They also grow beautiful and gnarly pods which is fun. They can also be a little challenging to grow so that makes it more fun too.

I like spicy. Scorpions and ghost peppers are way too much for me.

I grew some Carolina Reapers last year and made a hot sauce that's classified by the government.
