Does anyone have a great experience with a Grizzly outfitter?

I am looking for something in North America.

That is a huge bear in your link! I want something on the larger side in North America, balanced with higher success rate.

I killed one in the Yukon. But if you want big in NA, I think you should look at Kodiak or coastal Alaska.

Honestly, I'd call Trey Sperring at Neal & Brownlee and tell him what you are looking for and your price range. That's who I've booked a lot of my personal and customer hunts through over the years and they have all been top notch with 100% success. They have long-term relationships with the outfitters all over the world and will put you in the best position to make it happen based on what you are looking for.

Yeah, Alaskan and Canadian hunts have effectively doubled in price since 2021. It's depressing.

Yup. One of my biggest regrets was not finding a way to add on a mountain goat to my Canada moose/caribou hunt back in 2011. I had shot both my moose and mountain caribou by day 7 of the 11 day hunt. The guides said they had an extra mountain goat tag for $6,000, if I wanted to try to knock it out. I was already stretching it by doing both moose/caribou and didn't have that kind of extra money back then, so I declined. A mountain caribou hunt is $15-18k now, not including airfare, guide tip, etc. F*&%! Should have taken out a bank loan. But, that is why putting in for tags in the western states is so important now. It's really the only way to hunt big game in NA on a regular basis without having to win the Powerball.

In 2021 I tagged my sheep on day 2 of my 10-day Dall/Caribou combo. For the rest of the week I passed on multiple caribou bulls that didn't meet the outfit's standards. That caribou hunt is now $35k (more than my sheep hunt cost).

you can do Canada Moose and Black Bear combo for under 20 in Saskatchewan.

I wanted to do an Alaskan Hunt too but good lord, the prices were starting at 25k…

$35K for a Caribou hunt? Where at?

Prices have gone up quite a bit in Alaska, but our hunt in the Brooks Range was around $4K in 2018...it has almost doubled in price since then, but $35K is bonkers!

Raven's Throat in the NWT. To be fair, they no longer publish their prices online, so I can't confirm. But I'm pretty sure last I saw their price list (Sheep Show, 2/2024), the caribou hunts were upwards of $30k for the next available year.

It is all getting crazy on prices. Wonder what the reasons are?a

Because people will pay it…evidently. Will be interesting to see if/when prices stabilize to start declining on hunts as well as hotels, airfare, etc.
