A little odd request but personal. I'm looking for anyone with property that has access to the Brazos River near Bryan/College Station. My uncle, Cliff Thompson '60, passed away at the start of the summer and wished that his ashes be spread on the Brazos. He grew up in Bryan, as well as being an Aggies thru and thru. I'm looking for someplace that has road access where we could drive close enough to the river so that his sister (my mother) could stay close to the car and watch while a couple of us waded into the river to spread the ashes. We would only need access for that short period on some upcoming weekend. If you have or know someone with property that might work, please DM me. Thanks

Can you still access the river from Batt's Ferry?

There is also the old 105 access not terribly far south of town.

The Batt's Ferry access point is closed and completely overgrown. The Knoppe Bridge Rd access is still accessible but very steep with no visibility from the road.

Any highway crossing will have access at the right of way. Some are easier than others to get down to.

Koppe bridge road had access when I was there 2012-2016. Lots of good times down there.

You drive over the Brazos going to Snook on 60 from College Station, looks like there's drive down river access on the west side of the bridge from the highway. You could maybe wade out under the bridge with cars parked under the bridge.

When I was in school a few years ago we accessed the river from Hwy 190, west of Hearne. It's pretty steep and you'll probably want 4x4, but there's river access. We launched boats from there so you can get right up on the water. Haven't used it in awhile so don't know if it's still accessible but might be worth checking out

Sorry for your loss.

Leonard Road off 2818 goes right to the river unless things have changed. It dead-ends right at the bank.

a little bit of a drive but Falls on the Brazos State Park would be a good option for your mother to be able to watch from the bank and an easy spot to wade into the river

I have private beachfront access on the Brazos, and I am just past the airport in town. It will take a bit of off roading to get there, but there is a road. PM me or email me at my username at gmail.

Edit: As long as it is dry, you can get to where you need to be with a 2WD SUV.

tfunk02 - I sent you an email about your offer. Let me know if I have the correct address. I don't have a paid subscription here and can't send a PM.

Thanks again for the offer.
