Right out of 1992!

Bibs and jumpsuits are all good until that IPA or Fireball or coffee consumption catches up to you.

I bought a set last year along with one of their Boundary MIPS helmets. Loved them.

It was actually based on a Panda recommendation that I initially checked them out. I'm not a big goggle nerd but they seemed to be the real deal

I got the orange photochromic Adapt 2's, pics for reference

You should have went with the large goggles.

Steamboat is getting pounded and will continue to through the weekend and probably next week. I also saw that Breckenridge is expecting quite a bit of snow. Sounds like all of Colorado is about to catch up some.

Flew into Crested Butte today. Looks like the next 2 days are going to be some serious powder

I'm headed to Telluride on Sunday. It's looking like they are supposed to catch a bunch of much needed snow between now and then, getting excited! Also supposed to catch some refills on Mon eve-Wed am so maybe I'll finally start learning how to ski in new snow.

Also, any recommendations for must visit restaurants / bars in Telluride? I absolutely love Brown Dog Pizza and Smugglers Union and plan to hit both but am open to suggestions for the rest of the nights. I remember the Chop House at New Sheridan being a really good steak house over 15 years ago but didn't try any high end dining last year, if we're going to splurge one night what's the best? Chop House, Allreds, 221 South Oak, Alpino Vino via snowcat, Cosmo?

Allreds is a must for the view - great food too. We always take first timers there.

The Grand is the #1 go to right now. Excellent. Make reservations now if you can.

Cosmo is a long time favorite as well - and great happy hour.

221 Oak is very good. We like to sit at bar there if possible.

Alpino Vino - do it for lunch /apres while skiing if the weather is good. Have to time it right though cause no reservations. Incredible experience to have lunch and wine up there.

Chop House is still good but I'd go to the other places way before.

For more casual, Siam is great Thai food.

Happy to answer any other questions. We spend a lot of time there.

Also, There is my favorite bar. Very small and not easy to get in. Great drinks and a lot of fun though if you can.

Thanks! I'll definitely start looking into reservations, I never even think about that...
Siam is right across the plaza from our AirBnB and I love Thai. I stayed at Inn at Lost Creek a couple of times 15-20 years ago and I believe it used to be 9545?

Edit to add, I was there last year and prior to that went a few yrs in a row back in the mid 2000's and absolutely love the place! Planning to get up there on my motorcycle in the summer soon!

I saw that. I so want to go back up. Just out of curiosity, what's it like living up in that area? I keep eying Bayfield actually as I am not far from retirement eligibility and that gives me an option to start a second career and move if I want. I need a few acres for a horse.

That's Talay in Mountain Village - same folks though and I assume the food/menu is the same. We go to the OG in town, though.

The bar is "There."

And besides the Buck (Last Dollar) and Sheridan, which are the most popular/touristy bars and which can get pretty packed....Alibi is a good bar that can be less crowded and sometimes has good music (though gets crowded on those nights)...

I saw this gif and it reminded me of what some people thought skiing in NM was going to be like this year.

Ummm... that is about what skiing in NM is this year. Taos has 27" base and only 63/120 runs open. This time of year should be 80-100" base and 120/120.

Taos averages a base depth 1.75x of Vail this time of year?

When I was in high school (early 80s) Taos base was always over 100" (140" was not uncommon) at this time of year.

I think if you look at Vail, you'll see a decline over the decades as well. I would say up until 20 years ago Taos and Vail were probably equivalent.

In NM, Taos used to always be 1.5x to 2x all other NM ski areas.

Steamboat with 40" over the last 7 days. Another foot expected this weekend. Good base-building ahead of march and Spring Break.

Perfect timing! We have 14" at the house and still snowing! Unfortunately, one of our employees to open our small business isn't comfortable driving from Cortez and our neighborhood hasn't been plowed yet…. Lord willing, I'll get the snow blowed and eventually make a few laps!

Not a great shot but pretty solid semi powder day up here at Keystone today. Bergman bowl was pretty solid, was lapping that all morning.

Avalanche on Loveland pass this evening.

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/colorado/news/loveland-pass-avalanche-colorado-mountains-car-swept-off-road/

I was gonna take Loveland pass back home this afternoon when I left but it was closed already, guess they must've reopened it at some point.

Wound up taking the back way home over Hoosier pass which was surprisingly clear. It's wild how over such a relatively small area there's such dramatic differences in weather.

About every 10 years they get a really bad snow year. It happens.

Thanks. But, I'm local so I'm very familiar with their year to year history
