I'm thinking of moving to this instead of a toolbox for my truck bed. Anyone have experience with a system like this? Pros/Cons?

I had one, loved it. It was on a 2018 Chevy 2500.
I still have it and will sell cheap if you want it.
Can't use it on my 3500 because of the gooseneck hitch.

What's the best way to message you? I'm interested.

What year make and model is your truck. They are bed specific.
You can DM me on texags.

Seems it really cuts your bed depth and hauling ability down. Especially if you want a bed cover.

Can't see being able to haul mulch or dirt or rock.

I have both the toolbox & drawer system in my truck (8' bed). Love the ability to carry all my tools for work in a well organized fashion.

Regarding carrying stuff in the bed, the decked drawer platform can carry 2,000 pounds on it so loading it is not an issue. You also get nearly 12" from the from the rail to the decked platform so you can still load mulch or whatever loose material you'd like.

How's it do with corrosion? I'm a frequent beach goer so that's what's held me up.

I'm talking a yard of mulch from a front end loader.

I really want one for hunting. I do a lot of truck camping and the ones I saw at the western expo were awesome.

Put a tarp down first and you're fine.

Just strap it down

Edit: How often do you get yards of mulch?

I have one in my Tacoma. Love the organization and the tool boxes/etc they have. You do lose quite a bit of space, but I also have a camper shell, so I'm not hauling refrigerators anyway.

It's very well built and sturdy, but at the expense of "wasted" space. You can likely design and build your own drawer system that gives you a better ratio, but I didn't want to go that route.

The metal components are stainless so corrosion shouldn't be an issue.

I'd probably just have it delivered if I needed that much but to each his own.

That's the point of having a truck. To be able to haul stuff.

2 yards for the backyard, 2 yards for the front twice a year. An SUV can get me to the trailhead in Colorado.

Buying 8 yards of mulch a year makes you a statistical anomaly, not "the average truck buyer".

Get a trailer. A dump one at that.

I have a decked system and love it. Haul my tools and outdoor cooking gear with me. Probably would haul a pallet of corn or protein in the deck but 30 bags not a problem. Also great for truck camping with my topper.

I've had a truck since I was 16. My dad has always had one. Growing up, we put down mulch at their house every spring, now I'm in my 30s and do the same at my house and help my dad at their house every year, and we have never put mulch in the beds of our trucks. That's what trailers are for...

I guess we have never know the point of having trucks...

It may be a matter of location and climate, but the blown mulch guys in Charleston work pretty cheap.

If you frequently load heavy coolers or other stuff into the back of your truck, just know that you're going to need to lift them 12-16" higher than you normally would to get them on top of the drawers.

That's been one of the biggest downsides to having them in my brother's truck. He's got an F150 with the 5.5' bed.

I felt like I was losing too much space in my 6.5' bed, as the drawers don't necessarily extend further just because they're longer. That, and I didn't like the dog box so high up in the air.
