Got a SItka Delta Wading Jacket for Christmas. It is lightweight and a waterproof shell.

Anyone have advice for layering with other Sitka products?

I would like something thin that would be good down to below freezing if needed.

What I wore on Friday morning:

Sitka fleece long sleeve quarter zip
Sitka jetstream vest
Hoody
Sitka Gradient jacket

I brought my blizzard or whatever jacket I bought for elk hunting but didn't need it. My waders also have a zip in liner so I was nice and toasty.

To get below freezing I would say the duck oven, but I think they're about to discontinue it/update it so sizes are limited. I wore it yesterday with the Hudson and was pretty damn warm.

I have the traverse and it's pretty warm, if you want a little warmer probably the Dakota hoody.

I use the Dakota hoodie and the wading jacket together as a set. Really happy w this combination. I hunt a week in Arkansas in January every year and we often have to walk in and break ice in the holes w hunt.

I looked at the duck oven but it was a little too thick and restrictive for my needs. I like the shell and hoodie as a set because I can use them both as a pair or wear one or the other. With a good base layer, a vest, and the hoodie/shell combo I'm comfortable into the single digits. That's while also wearing insulated waders and standing knee to thigh deep in freezing water.

Edited to add - checked my tag I have the Gradient hoody not the Dakota. Not sure of the difference.

Gearing up for a sea duck hunt in Cold Bay AK this coming year.

Temps in November run mid 20's to upper 30's.

Anywhere in Texas stock Sitka to try on?

Gordy and Sons in Houston. I think Cabela's and bass pro carry it as well. Just remember Sitka usually rubs one size smaller. I'm XL in regular stuff but 2XL in Sitka

Scheels in The Colony also has a pretty good selection in stock

I actually don't really like the Sitka layers. I have a couple Delta waders and on a cold day I wear a heavy hoody underneath and that is usually enough. That delta jacket is windproof for sure. The Duck Oven is warm but I don't like the sleeve ends. The Jetstream is nice but they changed it from the original ones and its not as heavy as it used to be.

What outfitter are you going with?

Jeff Wasley - Four Flyways.

He comes highly recommended. Two different guys I know have been on multiple hunts with him.

I was told straight up to avoid the other outfitter up there...
