I thought this would be a fun thread, but I'm sure there have been previous threads like this.

What are your top 2-3 bucket list hunting trips (even if you have already been)?

I've pretty much only experienced whitetail and pig hunting on private land in central, south, and west TX, so my threshold for cool hunting experiences is fairly low compared to some of you.

I'm not as concerned with the "trophy" aspect of the hunting trip as I am with the environment/landscape/experience overall.

For me, it's Alaska Dall Sheep. Followed closely by muleys anywhere in the Rockies. 3rd is probably Caribou in BC or the Yukon.

Africa looks cool, but for some reason I'm much more drawn to experiencing wild places on this continent.

What's on your list?

Unfortunately, my bucket is filled with pennies rather than gold bars.

I'm thinking a moose or elk hunt once with all my boys.

Been very fortunate to check several of the top priorities off my list over the past couple years. Next few hunting species would probably be.....

- Elk
- Mountain goat
- Musk ox
- Wolf

For fishing....

- Tarpon
- Roosterfish
- Tuna

Me too! Red stag and the NZ landscape really calls out to my soul!

That and an Alaska hunt for any BG species there.

Agree…the red stag hunts are surprisingly lower cost than I would have imagined…$6-8k total for 4 day hunt before airfare. Total after taxidermy etc. is probably $12k. Would have guessed just the hunt and trophy fee would have been $12k.

My list is extensive and mostly in Texas (as that's the most realistic) but at the very top is a trip to South America.

Dove in Argentina followed by quail, red stag, and trout fishing in Patagonia.

I really want to do a sheep slam but no way I can afford it. Maybe an ibex slam in Spain is realistic though…

Opening week pheasant hunting in North Dakota and then the opening week in South Dakota. 2 weeks up there hunting behind good pointers for wild birds. I've been to both several times but only for 2 or 3 day hunts.

Marco polo sheep in Tajikistan
Lord derby eland in Cameroon or CAR
Mountain Caribou in the Northwest Territories

I have the North American sheep slam on my list, and am heading to Alaska this fall for dall sheep. But I would prioritize the hunts I have above before I tried to knock out all four NA sheep

Mine would be:
Pheasant somewhere in the Dakota
Dove/duck in Argentina
Mules or elk, since red stag will never be affordable
