WE FOUND HIM A HOME 5/22/21

I know of a male blue heeler needing to rehome in the Huntsville area. The boy was from our female's litter in January and the buyers are moving into the City. He has a drive like his momma, which means he needs worked. We use mom occasionally to work our animals but she still needs training.

The heeler available has been given some work but he needs trained. Great with kids, will likely chase a cat but will back down once swatted, he hasn't been around poultry.

Let me know if you are interested and I will get you in touch with the owner.

I have had my heeler for just over a year and can attest these animals are super smart. Smarter than my borders and Shepards.

If I had the room, I would pick him up.
Very loyal dogs, good around kids.

I agree on their intelligence. My female routinely picks up on the pressure needed to move animals and she is always looking to work. Her love language is fetch.

This male seems to be turning out just like her.

I picked up the female from Spoony's litter, she is an awesome dog (we named her Ruby). Easily the smartest dog I have ever had.

Whats up with the pinch collar?

Goodness, she looks just like mom.

That pinch collar is probably why he can get a still shot and I can't

I think I took that picture shortly after we got back in from a walk. She was pretty good on leash with a flat collar but about a month ago started reacting more to cars and dogs. With the prong collar she is perfect on leash- walks in perfect heel 98% of the time and pretty much ignores the things she was reacting to with just a slight amount of leash pressure.

Spoony, I cant take one now but might be interested in your next litter.

Currently dogless on 3 acres. Are you a breeder?

Not exactly a breeder. Just when I see good heeler genes I'd like to pass them along. Our female is a good worker with a high drive.

Pinch collars are nothing more than a tool. Used correctly they can save a dogs life who otherwise would be deemed not worthy of rehabilitation. Same with e-collars. We condition e-collars in a positive, non-aversive way over a length of time using food. I breed, train and sell extremely high drive working dogs (Malinois, Dutchies, GSDs etc,) and they get e-collars introduced around the 6/7 month mark if we have them that young. Prongs just depend.

If the prong makes her a better household member and isn't used in an abusive way, this is great to see.

We will likely have one by end of summer if that works. I've been debating on whether or not to hit this heat cycle. Leaning more toward it than not. Now to find the male.
