I like that one too.
I don't swing that big of a watch budget though. I'm hoping the cash that would require is going towards my Colorado moose tag I'll draw this year...

Wardens can be a bit picky about some things...EskimoJoe said:
At that point, time does not matter. So again, no need for a watch.

Drinking beer at the lake is the last place someone needs a watch, much less a $2,000 watch

I'm a watch guy, so I always wear one. Doesn't matter if I'm drinking beer at the lake, hiking through the woods, or building a shelf I promised my wife I'd build her 2 years ago. I wear whatever I feel like for that day...could be a $200 G-Shock all the way up to a Submariner.
I don't own a fishing boat, am not a member of a lease, nor do I own expensive cars. I like all of those things, but watches are my thing. Some prefer shoes, some have 50+ guns, others have expensive knives. I don't get it, but I do get it, IYKWIM.
Didn't buy them hoping or thinking they would, but my SMP 2254.50 cost me $1800 OTD at an AD back in '07 or so. Try to find a used one for <$2200 now. I could easily get what I paid for my Sub as well if I wanted to sell it.FTAC2011 said:aTm2004 said:Premium said:aTm2004 said:Congrats! Same here. The amount of money my car costs vs the amount of money I have in watches is laughable. And I wouldn't change it. Watches going up in value and my car is going down :-D
It's on their website, price has gone up 40% since I bought it 4 years ago.javajaws said:
That's nice - they don't currently sell that one do they? I've got a C65 I like but it's more for casual wear. I'm on their mailing list but haven't seen that one, must have missed it.
I'm down for Sinn, CW, or Oris if it's under 4K. Really like that white with Maroon bezel Sinn too.

OK. Fairly certain it will be Sinn. After talking to them, they view doing group runs as part of their business model, so they're quite comfortable w. it.
I haven't heard back from Oris - this project could get, personally, expensive. (I really like the Oris Whale shark...)

Sinn asked if we'd want anything engraved on the rotor - would add $90/watch.
Doesn't seem worth it to me.
We might be able to get something added to the face - "Doss... Serious Business" would limit the ability to get other Ags involved.
"Howdy!" Might work.
Yep, SKX would be a great platform to start with. Classic design.AgEng06 said:This is a good idea. Island Watch (longislandwatch.com) does customizations and may can do this. I have two SKXs I have bought from them (not customized) and they have been great.aTm2004 said:
Sinn may be a bit out of the price range for many. I think you may have better luck getting with one of the Seiko aftermarket guys to see if they can do custom hands/dials/bezels/chapter ring for a SKX or something (maybe even a package deal with them handling the install). You can get a SKX for $250, and another $150-200 for custom pieces and installation would be a great diver for ~$500. It would also give me a reason to buy another SKX.
