So Monday afternoon on a backroad a couple of miles from where my dad and several other family members live. Two kids out riding a side by side were gunned down in cold blood, from what the deputies have shared there were 40+ fired and that both boys were killed via headshots.

Do any former or current law enforcement officers on this forum know what the chances of catching the guy that did it might be? My family cruises the exact road this occurred on all the time, we all live out in the country and ride side by sides. I'm pretty distraught someone would murder him two innocent kids, I'm a lot more concerned when they mutilate the kids also. Definitely a kind of evil you don't see often.

Thoughts and prayers to anyone on here who may know the kid or families.

From what I know of the kids is not even a suspicion. One of the kids just graduated they say he never drank and I know he was super active with the fire department. They're suspecting they witnessed something illegal and maybe that's why this happened, but I'm sorry, you'd have to be the absolute worst drug dealer ever to not only kill two children, but to mutilate them with a gun is another level. That's a crime of hate to me, not the way someone is going to go about truly trying to cover their tracks.

That's what i was getting at, maybe they just drove up on the worst of people doing something drug related. Didn't mean to imply the kids were involved with something like that.

Hopefully investigating officers catch a break and someone tips them off as to who did it. Maybe someone will brag about it to the wrong person. Or maybe there are game cameras or security cameras that caught a vehicle license plate.

It is. Murder doesn't really happen much here and it's never anything like this.

I watch crime shows often and I wonder if this is plausible. Eventually, the suspects would likely have to drive on a main highway like 183/21 etc. if the Medical examiner establishes a time of death then could possibly identify any vehicles in the area around the time of the incident. A long shot but worth pursuing in a double Homicide.

Another idea would be to finger print casings left behind. Not sure if possible.


Maybe look to see if there any stolen cars in the area before or after. Again, a long shot and pure speculation that the suspects would think to steal a car in order to throw off investigators.

Hope it is solved and the suspects end up in Huntsville.

With everything going on in this country right now you never know why this went down.... Seems awful fishy.

this was my first thought. People involved in drugs and human trafficking can be absolute monsters. For this to likely happen in the daytime is pretty brazen

Seems odd that illegal activity at a cartelish level would take place in broad daylight on a public roadway.

The volume of rounds fired reported by the op makes it seem more personal. Regardless, hope they catch the scum responsible.

Two teenagers on a Polaris on a county road means road rage gone real, real bad most likely. Drugs, cartels, human trafficking, etc are all sexy and get the local yocals talking and whispering but it's usually something much simpler.

God bless those kids and their families. Pray they catch the murderers.

Cell phone tower location triangulation would really Narrow down who was in that area. That data exists if the LEO will get a warrant to review it.

Same. The amount of shots they're talking about doesn't say pulling up on x,y, and z and them clearing witnesses. It's says to me a crime of hate or just some personal demented soulless ***** I can tell you this, it's got a lot of people on high alert. No country riding for a while. It's been said there was someone on the road they think has a few game cameras out.

people very rarely are randomly killed. The victims almost always know or are connected to the killer(s) in some way. It is likely the kids were targeted for a reason. Your family has little to worry about.

if i were in the situation, even knowing the above, i'd probably worry too though.

I don't think this guy is the Zodiac or anything. Hell, I'm thinking of telling the rangers to call in Giddings to solve the whole thing. I'm sure he saw it all from his stand.

Too many possibilities and not enough information given to know what the chances are at this point. With what has been provided, anything anyone says right now is just speculation. Having said that, my guess is that with the number of shots fired, they will probably get caught. That's sloppy work. They will most likely have made other mistakes too.

And what info led to his arrest so quickly.

From what is trickling out here it's the suspect is a meth head, he thought the boys were "aliens" and he freaked out and shot them. Then in his inebriated state, he mentioned something to family who might of talked to police. They're also saying they found dna or evidence at the scene that confirmed it.

Dang that dude has an extremely asymmetrical face! The left side and the right side look like they came from two different people. And the guy in the FB link has the same issue, especially WRT his eyes. The left one is like an inch lower than the right one.

Similar thing happened recently on the Lower Mountain Fork River near Broken Bow, OK. Three local high schoolers were fishing and ran into 3 meth heads who were paranoid someone was trying to kill them. One kid was beaten badly with a tire iron, one was shot twice but thankfully all 3 survived and the tweekers were arrested a few days later. According to a friend who is in law enforcement there; one of them learned A hard lesson about trying to fight a police dog.

but since this guy is a meth head and freaking out...look for him to plead out based on the fact that he was not "in his right mind" and couldn't control himself.

That's never a bad guess and true for most murders. But violence is occasionally completely random, and nothing makes any of us "special" or immune to drawing the short straw one day.
