Anyone ever upgraded from plastic to glass on the same frame via Costa repair process?

I have a pair of Costas bought 6 years ago that I've sent in once To have rubber nose piece replaced under warranty. The lenses are 580P and have a few scratches. If I send them in and authorize the cost, can Costa put 580G on the same frames or does glass require an entirely new frame altogether? I figure paying for glass lenses is cheaper than buying a new pair so it's worth the maintenance cost to extend the life.

The model is Fisch, seen below and they are now discontinued I believe. I've heard that sometimes
Costa will replace the whole pair for discontinued items but I'm fine just having upgraded lenses. I like the tortoise frames and prefer it to other styles.

And before anyone asks, I have already inquired directly to Costa Del Mar via their website but no one is getting back to me.

I did. Just told them I wanted glass lenses on the repair form. They charged me and installed it. Easy enough. That's been a few years ago though.... may have changed.

Cheaper than $129? If that's the style you like and they're discontinued I'd get a spare at that price

If the Fisch is discontinued, it must have just happened as they replaced two pairs for me last December.

well cheaper but not by much... glass lenses cost 89, but shipping may be added also.

now that is interesting! Do you know if frames with plastic lenses are the same as frames with glass lenses? I can't tell if those fuse lenses are pc or glass. Guessing not glass since I don't see glass specified.

The frames are the same. I have a pair that have had 4 replacement sets of lenses in them. The original and first 3 sets were glass. The current set is plastic.

Im going to guess those Fuse lenses are plastic based on the impact rating the page mentions. Mine are scratched, I may order a set of those lenses just to try them out...

This is good info and what I was exactly wondering.

They are plastic but have a no questions asked warranty up to 3 yrs. I have ordered 5-10 sets and enjoyed them

Can't say I am disappointed in their service. Sent in a well used but cared for set of Saltbreaks on which the rubber was coming off but the glass was flawless.

Just got my new frames with my glass. Same look , but the frames are just a much better design and fit overall.
