That's our home range. I love going out there as you get your own bay to shoot in and don't have to deal with anyone else. Also, he has out to 975 yards. Only downside is that the place is very unimproved and right on the Brazos River so drainage is an issue. Call Leigh John first to make sure it's possible to get back to the areas that you want to shoot. Also, depending on what you want to shoot, you'll need to bring gun rests, etc with you.

He has a bench over there but you'll need some way to verify that it's at 100yards as it can be picked up and moved. I think there is a rest but... I hate it. It stays out in the elements all the time and just hasn't held up.

A bench besides the target board, iirc.

I'd recommend taking sand bags or some sort of rest like EyeGuy mentioned. Another thing you can do is shooting from the bed of your truck if that's an option.

Edit: EyeGuy beat me to the response.

ASC is just a couple of miles away, but man their prices have gotten outrageous.
I want to say that ASC and Brazos have the same prices but I may be wrong on that. Full disclosure, staff and I don't pay when we go out there because we refer so many people there. But hey, if you go to ASC you can drop by, we're hearing distance from them!

Yeesh. This is not conducive to a quick trip out to pop off some rounds. I may go somewhere else.
You've never used the bed of your truck or door / mirror as a rest?

I have used both as a rest and have a witness to me taking a antelope at 500 resting on a F150 mirror. It just takes a little practice to find the right comfortable spot.

The real benefits of BRS is the exact opposite of what you were looking for. I can shoot at whatever distance I want as long as no one else is on the long distance range. I get to practice guessing distances and verifying with my range finder. And I get to move the benches wherever if I'm sighting in or shoot prone off my bipod.

Downside is that it's a 45 minute drive. I have to call first to check availability and see who and when they are expecting other shooters. I also doubt I could get my vehicle to the long distance range right now with all the rain/mud.
