Saw the story on KBTX last night. What's the story on the ram and bear trying to cross the footbridge together?! I was half paying attention and did a quick double take thinking "that's not normal!".

Pretty clear now what the kids were up to. couple of posters owe the OP a big apology! And not to mention they are really naive in life!

pretty sure that they've been ID'd. I've heard that the long haired one is a consol student.

A while back, in Longview, TX (if I remember correctly) a couple of kids got into a house they thought was a model home just to pull a prank by rearranging the furniture or something along those lines. At least one of them lost their lives that night when the owner came downstairs with a shotgun. Bad story all around.

OP is 100% correct...whether or not these kids are just doing stupid stuff or attempting to burglarize, glad they are getting caught.

Where has society gone? First page is full of grown adults making excuses for thug kids. Even a far as starting to make up a story of how what they said wasn't at all what it was.

Folks wake up. It's time we start realizing our relaxed society is making lazy self centered citizens. These kids need a good old fashioned a$$ whooping and a job. I know oh the abuse. They need to learn if they want something go work for it. I'm willing to bet the OP didn't get that house by pulling stupid stuff. I actually bet he came by it through effort raised by parents who didn't make excuses.

I worry about Texags sometimes. Who would have ever thought Aggies would make excuses for punks trying to steal. You know the part about Aggies don't tolerate those who do lie steal or cheat. I believe many Aggies have lost their value as well. Sad day I say make them pay.

Maybe the problem that not everyone is willing to jump directly to assuming the worst in everything, especially when so little happens. Or maybe some of us haven't reached that point of elder status yet where we can't remember the dumb crap we did before camera systems and smart phones allowed people to broadcast it to the world.

But don't let that stand in the way of your fictional *******ization of the world as you see it so you can judge everyone else from your glass house.

Or maybe just maybe you look at the video for what it is. They went to somebodies property without permission and tried to enter. All the arguement stops right there. If society would treat and teach respect this wouldn't be an issue. Instead you want to say well they are such good little kids. Nothing needs to be proved beyond that they tried to enter a place without permission.

As for what I did as a kid I didn't have time and my father had me working and dead tired after work. I have been taught by a very young age the value of a dollar and I am responsible for every one of my actions.

There is nothing up for debate to be proven. They went where they didn't belong. Doesn't matter the intent in the slightest. Are you going to argue that the video was made up to show two **** heals walk up to the mans front door and try to open it and talk about what was inside?

As far as not assuming the worst in everything...They were at a house that wasn't theirs in the middle of the night, trying multiple doors to see if they were unlocked, and discussed entering the house. Yeah, innocent until proven guilty. Well, if I was on a jury and saw the videos the OP posted and heard what they said on the video, they'd get a guilty from me.

I did a lot of dumb stuff as a teen. Do you know a dumb thing I never did nor ever crossed my mind to do? Go to a strange house in the middle of the night and try to get into it.

I think the real argument is not the obvious (did these idiots do something wrong).

The OP wanted them ID'd. Evidence was reviewed and the lead was they are dumb high school students looking for stupid trouble. Later we find out OB was correct. Quickly confirmed by a FB group.

Lots of tough guy/parent arguments commenced and here we are.

If it was that terrible of an act doxx them like any other criminal found on the OB. Or admit they are dumb high school students and the parents (who probably don't care anyway and won't do anything) will handle this because it wasn't that serious of an offense.

And don't give me the crap that this generation is going to hell. I've heard countless stories from highly successful people much older than me talking about breaking into their school in their day and sneaking into the neighbors place to go fishing.

Young people do stupid illegal crap in every generation. I'm just glad no one got hurt and these kids may learn a lesson.

Seems like the population continues to get softer and softer, year after year. We are a victim of our own success. Its sad to think a parent would not hold their kids accountable for something like this. The punishment my dad would serve up for something like this would be memorable, at the very least. That's not even getting into the guilt of dragging the family name into it. On the bright side, one of the kids was from consol, and the other cshs. CSISD can throw a humble brag about the "comparability" they have achieved.

Hey now, this was our gig 3 times a week over the summers, pal. We were high class trespassers though...only catch and release....because...you had to catch that fish next week , too.

I think one's perspective of this situation, and the resulting gamut of feelings towards it is dependent upon the life one led as a kid.

I fished at the neighbor's place all the time as a kid. Difference was, I asked, and was granted permission before attempting to do so. I fished there for years without a hint of an issue.

I still find it pretty interesting that the mob is so hard up to crucify two dorks. If it was my house I'd want the Shariff to find them and figure out what they were doing. No one likes their privacy invaded, nor should they. One's home is their last bastion of privacy in the information age. If they're thieves, they need a life lesson.

I don't know what the news story said, but I have yet see anything that says the OP was correct and they are serial mastermind hardened thieves. They trespassed (if done intentionally). No one had proven that they weren't just at the wrong house. If the sheriff's department says otherwise, great.

The mob mentality of wanting to hang them high because you want to be angry is wrong until proven otherwise. The house wasn't broken into and nothing was stolen according to the OP. A next door page seems to be the only negative lead and we've seen how sensible and correct those are.
