Well, I just bought a 300 win mag... thanks guys. Now I guess I gotta book an elk or buffalo hunt since that's too much gun for a hog. I have everything else covered up to 270 WSM already, so that was the best option for me.

I had 2. I couldn't decide between a .270 and the .300 and ended up deleting the .270. I was amazed how cheap my cart total was with both and damn near hit checkout, but it's going to be hard enough sneaking one gun into the gun safe without the wife seeing and asking questions. 2 guns? Not worth it.

I am seriously about buy one of these. Dumb question is there a web site listing FFL? Need one on this

also would the local Academy act as my FFL?

I use 2nd Amendment Arms in Katy. That's ONLY because eye guy is not close to me and this guy can Ben on my way home. If you can use eye guy, I suggest that. My ffl charges 10 bucks for CHL holders.

You guys suck. I wasn't going to buy a new gun for a while but now I own a .243. I wanted one for my son & I have always wanted a rifle in that caliber.

Again in Round Rock but have a local small owner owned place down the street. I will use them and when it shows up I'll mount my new vortex diamondback while it's there. I'm good

I had a 270WSM, 7-08, .243, and a Leica rangefinder in the cart but finally dropped it to the 7-08 and Leica

I've been wanting a 7-08 for a while so the itch will get scratched. Next is the .410 AR someone posted on the form 16 thread

For everyone on the thread... budget yet quality scope to go with budget yet quality rifle. Want me to talk to Riton and Rudolph tomorrow to see if I can get a good deal on a 4-16x or so?

Should have something better than that at the pricepoint. The DBs are good, but Japanese glass > Filipino glass if I can get something situated.

Eyeguy- Note that most of the models are Forest, designed for a larger objective, supposedly. 42 doesn't seem that large. What's that saying. ....Go big or go home.

There is more to it than that I believe. Sometimes this is like buying a new phone with 4k resolution and 5000 frames per second, mostly marketing since I can't resolve that anyway.

Ok, so just got off the phone with Rudolph, we're working a deal on their 4-16x50 Varmint Hunter scopes.

Left a message with Riton. For them, I'll probably split it between their 3-9x40 scope that has a 30mm tube (which I absolutely love) and their 4-16x50. Theirs will run cheaper but the Rudolph is better glass. Pick the price and quality that is best for you. Normal MAP on the Rudolph is $875 and the Riton 4-16x is normally like $479. Trying to pop the Riton down under $399 and the Rudolph should run about $699

My idea of budget scope and the industry's idea of budget scope are not the same.

Any decent scopes for $300-$350 range?

Uh... Rudolph 4-16x50 VH with T3 or T5 reticle... how does $600 sound? MAP on that is usually $875

Do they have anything in the same price range a little lighter? I'm looking for something with some zoom, but lighter weight for a mountain rifle build that I could stretch out to 700 yards on a range.

Maybe the Hunter HD in 4-16?

Actually, yeah, but you're dropping down a to the H1 series. 4.5-14x44. Those run like $250. Good scope just completely different level.
