Thanks for the feedback guys. I ordered mine directly through Eyeguy because the model I wanted wasn't available in the online sale. He's also looking at threading the barrel and a Rudolph scope for me. So it wasn't as easy as a FFL situation.

After coming from a sportered Mauser and a Winchester model 70, these Tikka rifles weigh NOTHING. These magnum rounds ought to be a hoot.

Now you know why I'm getting my barrel threaded for a muzzle brake / suppressor. Oh, and shooting shirts help. It's also why I ordered a T3X Lite with the better recoil pad through Eyeguy instead of the online sale.

Ok, for everyone that questioned in... These all came with low 1" rings. They do fit a 50mm objective with low rings, which is cool, but most of the 50s are 30mm so be aware that you may need new rings.

Well, after watching this thread for two weeks I finally gave in and went with the Hunter in .270. Didn't even have to sneak it by the wife - although the next one may be a different story.

Bought the Tikka hunter .270. Feel like Nikon is the best value for the quality. Gun shop I had it delivered to wanted to put me in a prostaff 5 for $280, I think. If you thought it was a good idea, would probably have you throw some rings and a rail on it for me as well. Maybe a group buy on the scope?

There is a special Tikka ring if using the rifle mount itself.

I'm using THIS so that I can mount whatever rings I want.

just ordered those same rings. What is the size of the objective on that scope?
