The pros use a wooden block but I'm not exactly sure how it's rigged up. If you took a took 2 2x4 about a foot long, created a groove about the width of the cable and bolted the two together around the cable, I think it would creat enough friction to slow you down. Might have to make it 18". The curvature of the cable will create friction in the straight block. Just have to reset it each run

Significant changes were implemented. I moved it to the back yard. It's not nearly as fast, and has a seat, but no children were maimed, either.

It's West Virginia - tie an old mattress around the trunk of the tree marked B in your well engineered drawing. Problem solved.

The zip line game with kids is alwaysto see who will get closest to the end before bailing...sort of like 1 man chicken.
