So, I'm just coming off a 24 hour ban for posting an image containing a naughty word. I had a full day to contemplate the consequences of my actions, and I decided that the first thing I would do when I came back is organize a cigar pass on the OB.

Rules: Find your name, and send cigars to the name BELOW you on the list. AZAG08, in position 27 will send to BCOBQ98 at position 1. You are to send 6 cigars, with a retail value of approximately $50 (or around $8 per stick) to your fellow Ag. Seal them in a Ziploc, pack them securely, and send via priority mail.

If you are unsure of what to send, or are worried about "stiffing" your partner, just go into any reputable tobacconist/haberdasher/etc and explain that you are taking part in a cigar pass, you are a bit of a n00b, and that you would like to send the best six cigars you can on a $50 budget. Then just let him pick. You'll be fine.

OP updated. Let me know your thoughts on quantity and quality. I think 6 @ $8 makes for a pretty good pass, totaling right at $50 value.

Obviously that's an $8 average. You can send a $5 and a $12 stick, etc. We just don't want one guy sending out Perdomo and Arturo Fuentes and getting back Black n Milds.

Rules: I will blindly draw pairings after the roster is filled. We will send a minimum of six cigars, with a retail average of $8 per stick. Cigars should be sealed in a Ziploc bag (humidification optional), securely packed and sent priority mail.

The list, rules, etc. can be hammered out in the discussion below, and I will keep this OP edited with the agreed upon details.

You sign up and are randomly assigned to someone else in the list. You are given the other persons mailing address and you send them X number of cigars (whatever we all decide for this one) that have an average value of at least $8

Its a way for all of us to share cigars we like and for people to get exposed to new cigars they have never tried before

Sounds cool, but I smoke maybe 2 a year. The real issue is that I don't know anything about cigars and could potentially eff over my swap partner by essentially just buying 6 random cigars.

Lots of people posted pictures of what they received and discussed what they were excited about

If nothing else a good place to start to give you some ideas

Stick to the $8 average and you'll be fine. Chat it up with the guys cigar store and tell them what you're doing and they'll help ya out.
