Aunt and uncle are out of town on vacation. They live in the Del Webb community at 59 and 762. Saw that Pecan Grove had a mandatory evacuation. I guess that means that Del Webb will also? Any idea how high in the homes the water might get there?

Do we have any models, etc.? It's tough to find reliable & up to date forecasts.

It is a mandatory evacuation zone.

I'm physically drained we cleared 12 neighborhoods in Katy today I haven't been that soaked in a long time rescued a ton of people and worst part is that the reservoirs are still climbing and 14 more inches of rain is projected over night and into tomorrow.

Our group of 12 boats got 2-3 thousand people out today. Headed back into the mess in the morning. I can't imagine what another two feet of rain will do....

Can't be true - kept hearing there were only 2500 high water rescues. Or maybe the media is trying to cover just a slight sliver of this disaster. I would have estimated 10's of thousands of rescues.

They have no way to count civilian rescues. I think I even heard that disclaimer at some point.

Good work! What part of katy?. I would love to get out of the house and try and help. Anything us regular folk can do to help. No boat and f-150 without a lift. I might go to MRHS tomorrow to volunteer if I can get there.

Or you can ask about staging areas at a fire station. Even if you do not ride a boat you can help people get off boats and direct them to the assembly area, give out water, or whatever else you can do to make those being rescued more comfortable.

Thought it was over the spillway and not the dam?

Addicks is over at the northern end. They are trying to figure out where that water is going to go. They said by Friday Barker will be over. They have lost the Barker gauge and think they will lose the one in Addicks.

Carpe--thank you for posting that! I don't facebook, etc so that is so wonderful to see.

On another note, what is up with that soon to be depression in the east off the African coast? Can we set up a giant fan and steer it towards Canada?

To Yellowpot and all the other helpers--bless you and your deep reservoirs of courage, commitment and patience in helping others.

I posted a thread on the Harvey forum but the NOAA satellite image of wind affected areas is up:

If you are concerned about a property this will give you a look.
