The weather service we use for our office has similar prediction and has been pretty accurate in this whole ordeal. They called a Cat 3 storm on Tuesday when it wasnt even a thought.

Yeah the nhc actually largely agrees with him.

1. Ongoing catastrophic and life-threatening flooding will continue
across southeastern Texas. Additional rainfall accumulations of 15
to 25 inches are expected, with isolated storm totals as high as 50
inches, through Friday. Please heed the advice of local officials.
Do not attempt to travel if you are in a safe place, and do not
drive into flooded roadways. Refer to products from your local
National Weather Service office and the NOAA Weather Prediction
Center for more information on the flooding hazard. A summary of
rainfall totals compiled by the Weather Prediction Center can be

I am not super familiar with Houston other than MD Anderson visits. Where is this Bayou? They show bayous on the weather stations, but I really lack knowledge w/respects to landmarks.

I'm not entirely sure, I'm only familiar with the area where the livestock show is held

We got most of the cows out. Some swam back through the creek, but we were able to pen most again.

Praying for cbr and others on the other side of the river. They are in the squal line.

Unbearable weather.

I cannot say if the pic is current/fake, but I will comment that my mom (78 yrs young) behaves in a similar fashion. She seems very calm and unconcerned about events concerning her own safety but worries and worries over her grandchildren. Perhaps because she knows she has lived and loved for a very long time and is confident in her salvation? I simply know she wants people to treasure their moments together and not fret too much about what will be. Very que sera sera.
That being said, I do hope all that need help will be able to receive it.
