Is this a photo shop?



I know there are no "black" mountain lions and when I pointed that out in a Facebook thread where our neighborhood stay at home moms are wigging out about a "sighting" in our hood, someone posted this pic.


ETA: Meant to put this above after my original question. Does someone know where to find the "un-shopped" version of this photo?

Holy hell! That's a terrible photoshop

Mountain Lions do not, I repeat, do not, contain the genes necessary to promote melanism (black coloration). It's almost genetically impossible.

There is literally more proof that Bigfoot may exist than a black mountain lion.

I pointed that out and let's just say she wasn't happy with all of my replies.

Those "old wives tales" are hard to beat out of popular belief.
I edified my grandfather, my grandfather was convinced he had seen and heard a black panther scream.
No two ways about it, he was convinced.
I adored and edified my grandfather, but I SERIOUSLY doubt he saw/heard a black panther.
Many will never be convinced otherwise.

This is an old thread from Texas fishing forum and even when it's clear this was just a big, black, feral cat guys were adamant it was a black panther.

I'm a Texas History buff and the Black Panthers are native to Texas. Go to Vanzandt and Henderson County and you can hear them scream @ night. First time I heard one I thought it was a lady screaming for help. I never saw one but the old timers in the community (Edom) saw plenty of them in the day.

That's funny. I am good friends with the game warden that serves Wheeler County--I grew up with him--his dad was the game warden in Childress growing up. I Just shot him a screenshot of the quote via text. He laughed. Said he will take the lady snipe hunting next time she is in the panhandle.

They're still at it today:

Never mind that the location he's talking about is less than 100 yards from a highly traveled FM road, the carcus was laying out in the open, and had been there a while.

I would not trust that map. I know several of those newer ones, and can tell you they weren't confirmed by TPWD.
