I bet eyeguy would prefer thugs just stayed the hell away. No matter how low the lowlife is, it's got to effect you if you take one out. I still remember taking out an aggressive dog 25 years ago.

I won't speak for eye guy or any other business owner but I would guess not

Insurance can be filed on stolen goods but if you catch a bullet or if a customer is shot things have just got really bad

True, I should not of been so presumptuous. But having been robbed once and a having been on the losing end of a motor vehicle burglary three times, I can tell you I would have preferred to have had an opportunity to confront the perp with a gun instead of just being a victim. Yes, if I had a third choice I too would prefer the scum just stay away.

Except he shot first. Not that it mattered, once he drew his weapon, the store owner was 100% justified, in my opinion.

Correct. Staff stays armed. I always have a couple guns within reach. Nightmare scenario for me to have to use one. I've been in two situations (both outside of the store) where I was ready to shoot someone. Even those experiences... ones where I made the decision that I was ready to end someone's life if need be.... both change you and slightly haunt you. Look, I'm a huge hunter. I respect the taking of life. There is a huge difference between shooting a person and shooting a deer, however. Hell, every time I shoot a deer, I do feel some sadness. I don't care how much of a POS the person is, I have zero desire to kill someone. I know that it will haunt me. That being said, I am ok with it. Made peace with the fact that I may kill someone someday. Don't want to and will avoid if possible but who knows what will happen in life. Insurance won't cover everything but they will make it easier.
