My only experience is Chacos and I love mine.

I have the z/1's and they're very comfortable.

Keen all day!

I didn't realize they made Tevas after 1998.

I didn't realize anyone other than Christian camp counselors could wear Chacos. (I have some)

loved every pair of chaco's I have owned.

keens may be awesome...but they scream "dork" to me.

I just bought a pair of simms current shoes and so far they are pretty sweet [perform really well at the neighborhood pool and local restaurants...going to actually test them out offshore tomorrow ].

Never had Keens, but I wore out some Tevas pretty easily back in the day and my Chaco's are probably 12 yrs old and as good as new minus some moderate tread wear.

Just an FYI, not one of the 3 shoe companies on this thread don't scream dork

Just got a pair of Bogs sandals.

They are much "cooler" for the outdoor board posters to wear.

Have Chacos and Keen. I would give the edge to Keen.

I disagree.

Chaco - dope smoker with family $
Keen - dork
Teva - German tourist

Wait...Keens scream dork to you, but you think the currents look cool? Did you get the blue ones?
RK

no, the gray...they look like shoes...and there is no debate between the two. while neither are "cool"...keens are dorky. not that there's anything wrong with that.

Chacos with the Vibram soles are really durable. Have walked 20 miles a day in them for days at a time and they're fantastic---if a little on the heavy side.

do tell us more about what "resort play" entails ...

and don't forget your white cotton tube socks when you decide on the winner!! infintely more comfortable when worn in combination.

Chaco just means one thing to me, big toe meets rock. Closed toed shoes are the only way to fly. Keen H2 newports aren't bad. I really want a pair of the Simms Streamtread or Riprap.

Also, my Nike Free5.0s did extremely well as a wading shoe in the Smoky's.

Today I learned Tevas still exist. Does each pair come with a Weezer CD?

Posted a similar thread here a couple of weeks ago, but Chaco / Keen.

I have two pair of Chacos, Sierra Trading Post usually has the best prices with coupon, and I love them. No stubbed toes, and you can embarrass your kids with the Chaco tan line. Make sure you get the right size, and the arch hits your foot right, my wife hates hers because they don't fit her foot well. One pair will need new sole this year, but the tops and straps are still in great shape.

Just picked up a pair of Keen Newports a couple of weeks ago. Wore them the entire Fourth of July weekend walking downtown at the Olympic swim trials with a trip to the zoo and some rain thrown in. They seem to be as good as everyone says. No smell, and they do not feel like shoes without sock. They have an open sandal feel, but not as much as Chacos.

I wore out Tevas back in the day, but have not had any in 10-15 years.

Just threw away the Teva pair I had for about 10 years, good pair of shoes. Chacos feel heavy to me. Those Bogs look lik Teva.

I prefer keens for the closed toe feature but plenty of river guides swear by their chacos. Count me among those unaware that tevas were still a thing.

All are fairly dorky. This is functional footwear; don't worry about it...

I have a pair of Ripraps and I like them. Their Currents is a really bad shoe. First thing I have ever returned to Simms. The footbed has new Right Angle Technology. To me it was a ton of little pointy things aimed at the bottom of my feet.

This is a pretty good shoe to me as I like the type that protects the toe and lots of holes for water to escape. About $45 at Academy...I think.

I loved my keens and wholeheartedly endorse them here. Wore them whenever I wasn't at work. Had awesome tiger striped feet bc of it. My kids forced me into some Clark's loafers... Great off time shoes but not near as versatile as the keens.
